Yeah, it does. They were an awesome band. :(

I liked their older stuff. They were going downhill IMO but it's still pretty sad :(

Mute Print

I don't think it's fair to say they were going downhill, considering the difference between their "old stuff" and their "new stuff" was one album and a couple years.

If they had released two or three albums that had gotten progressively worse, then you could say they were going downhill.

Nightvision

although it was a fairly major change in sound I guess.

Mute Print

That's true, but there's nothing to really say they wouldn't haven't rebounded.

I guess we'll probably never know.

Indefinite break? Does that mean they're done for good, or just taking a hiatus type deal? If they're done for good, that's very sad news. WIITB was the album that really got me into music. I still remember the first time I heard that album. I loved it.

Nightvision

Meh, from reading that, it doesn't look too likely. Seems like they never really got on too well since their drummer left after WIITB. Shame really, but at least I got to see them live. :)

Ok, so they dropped off a cliff and then cut the line therefore ruining their chance to make up for it.

I'm content. They had a good run. Cheers.

I've only really been going to shows for about a year. Up until last summer, I'd only been to about 15 shows at most. Now I've seen 75+.

I'm not a big Finch fan. Some of their old stuff like Letters to You and Three Simple Words were OK but overall, I never really got into them. It always sucks when a band breaks up, though.

Here's to Finch! :chug:

Worst of all, I only saw them live once, at a festival. They always struck me as a band who'd be ace in a smaller venue.

I enjoyed them both times I saw them live, and both times were very different.

I'm annoyed. Finch are the band that was the gateway for me into harder/heavier music styles (I bought their first album after hearing 3 Simple Words and got into all the old favourites like Project Mayhem). I also was hoping for a third album which combined the cool bits of both of their albums as I really enjoyed the second album too especially Casket of Roderick Usher.

Oh well.

Heh, if you thought it was so pathetic of him to bash your taste of music, you probably wouldn't have even bothered defending that post.

Either way, Finch were a great band and released 2 albums, both of epic proportions for the pop-punk world. Even if SHTS wasn't as well recognized as it should've been.

That sucks, too many breakups/deaths in bands recently, not really recent, but recent enough.

What it is to Burn was ace.

No, you just have an extremely limited taste in music.

I'd like to happily disagree, and waste a thread arguing with you.

Just because there are no threads about the bands I like, dosnt mean my taste is limited.

I'm giving up MX for lent.

No, bad opinion = bad.

Your opinion, as well as being different, is also bad. Therefore, it is a bad opinion.

There are different opinions that are good, for example, if a chick likes it up the butt, that's good. I happen not to like having penors in my bum, but if she does more power to her.

Meh, I saw them twice - once close quarters and once at Reading festival, and both times they were awesome, so I guess you either weren't going to like them anyway, or you were just watching the wrong band.

I'm not stupid, so I don't really know what bollocks means, but I'll assume it's bad. If it's good, then disregard the rest of this post.

They're awesome live. Nate's voice was a little off the first time I saw them, but the second time they ripped. Everything sounded just right, and there was plenting of jumping and energy and all that good stuff.

Oh man.. this brings tears to my eyes...

OF JOY!

i never liked finch, and probably never will.
I saw them in augest because they took th Rx Bandits on tour with them, RXB were great, and then came finch. Well after ofcourse the hour setup. Then they get on and they just have no energy, the songs sound the same, and they like to stand and talk to each other in a corner on stage between songs. The only enjoyable part was when they were converseing one time some guy yelled out "I love silence!", and the lead singer replied "you got it". but yeah im just rambleing now...

that tends to happen when i hear a band which i dislike breaks up...

WOOOOO!

Their first album was great. Good tunes all around.

Second album....meh....pretty generic and blah. I've owned it for a while now, and I'm still yet to listen to it all the way through.

Didn't you use to lump them together with Glassjaw and state that "I don't like bands that just jump around and scream their heads off".

Or maybe I'm just going senile. Oh well.

I went through a phase when I didnt like Finch much. Their first album isnt much like Glassjaw though, so I like it. There was just the right amount of screaming on the first album that I can like it.

Their second album is alot more Glassjaw-ish (read: ****-ish) so I dont like it.
