I just got into the Metal Gear series, and i have to say, these stories are awesome. Both gameplay and story aspects of all these games make for some of the best gaming expieriences i have ever expierienced. What other games have great storylines in your opinion, maybe i'll check them out.

Final Fantasy, IMO 7 and 8 are the best.
Metal Gear series has awsome plots.
Brokensword was pretty good back in the day.
And although it isn't the best ICO because it's just a fantastic game.

having a well-thought out setting does not automatically make the plot good.
Despite the amount of detail Tolkien put into Middle-Earth, I would never say that LOTR has the best plot of any book.

Well, we said series...assuming the entire warcraft universe.

But I do understand what you're saying, just going with the initial game...the first two warcraft didn't have an incredibly induldged story.

I was just thinking of the entire universe of it though.

Not really. In Doom the plot was that demons or something took over a base on Mars and you had to kill them. Great plot, great game, but there is something about beating a hooker to death with a baseball bat that turns it for me, IF you know what I mean!

Mr. Ron

Xenogears has an amazing story. Blows away FF7's storyline in seriousness ten fold. FF8 has the best love story.

The first MGS' story was awesome, however, MGS2 started to get so unbelievable with all of the plot twists and such. I haven't beaten the 3rd one yet so I have no comment.

I always loved FF6's storyline because of what Kefka managed to do. If you beat the game you'd know what im talkin about.

Star Ocean 3 has an awesome storyline as well. If you've made it far enough into the game, the major plot twist is kinda, odd? But it's a pretty cool concept that I never would've thought of.

There are so many more games that I want to list, but those are the ones that are currently on my mind.:thumb:

if anything gtas got the plot since every game's storyline is connected

vice city - 80s
san andreas - early 90s
liberty city - happens before gta 3
gta 3 - current

and um i seem to remmeber that i herd from somewhere that the game "Manhunt" also made by rockstargames is connected to gta cause the city that "Manhunt" occurs in, is mentioned in one of the gta games

Xenogears wasn't a finished game. Thats why the graphics look they way they do, they werenlt even finished. It was due to lack of funding.

The Metal Gear Series is awesome. I've played 1 & 3, and started working on 2 yesterday. Some other great games are:

-The Devil May Cry Series: storylines aren't the greatest, but gameplay makes
up for it.
-Silent Hill Series except 4 The Room, it kinda sucked.
-The new Gauntlet is pretty damn good.
-The Elder Scrolls III: Marrowind: it's a great open-ended, non-turn, free will
driven RPG. It's on Xbox.
-Resident Evil Series of course. 4 is proving to be great.

Sorry can't think of many more that good at the moment.

But the story in Morrowind isn't really anything special. It's one of my favourite games but the story is it's main failing in my opinion. Lets hope that Oblivion rectifies that.
