I didn't see a thread about them, and since they are one of Fat's best bands, and they have a new record coming out--i thought i'd make a thread.

"Oh Calcutta!" out on Fat Wreck Chords soon.

Album is good, but sounds like every other Lawrence album.

I haven't heard the Falcon, but I like Larry Arms and Broadways equally, and a little more than Slapstick.

Slapstick is really average for me, but the Falcon is great.

I just heard these guys for the first time and I've decided they're awesome. They sound so much like Alk3 and I've always liked Alk3. The vocals and lyrics on the mellower songs are pretty much Alkaline Trio songs.

We've had several threads on them in the past.

They're okay.

Some of their songs are awesome and some are just average.

I really like them, well half of their stuff, because the other half is chris and I really don't enjoy Chris's songs, maybe just nebraska and 100 resolutions and maybe one or two on apathy and exhaustion, but the rest are kind of boring. It's kind of funny though, I love "The greatest story ever told" and I listen to it a lot but for me it's just a 6 song album, because I just listen to Brendan's songs.

NOFX joke or LA fact?

LA aren't too bad, i saw them when they'd just started out and they played nice a tight, but without the neregy or humour of a bouncing souls, lightyear, nofx, bad religion, etc.

Still enjoyable if you know trhier songs.

Got my copy of 'Oh! Calcutta' today (the 6th, one day early!). It's great stuff. Maybe the best LA's album ever, but I'm not sure yet. I must admit that I did hear quite a bit of it before, because someone I know downloaded before the release date. If you like any of LA's earlier stuff, than this keeps right on track.

YOU'VE EXPOSED ME

haha I actually think they're a pretty cool band, that's why I started the thread. BUT if anyone wants to see them in Madison, Wisconsin, on March 18th, LET ME KNOW :thumb:

I saw them with nofx last night. They were pretty good. Nofx opened their set with the decline, it was pretty incredible.

I remember them on the Daily Show. I wasn't really a fan of them back then, but I knew who they were. The show was based on 'Conservative Punks'. They were interviewing LA's, and some conservative punk guy. LA's was pretty funny, they basically just talked about how stupid this conservative punk guy was. And the interviewer (I think it was Colbert back then) was making fun on the conservative punk in the interview. It was one of my favorite Daily Shows ever.

F'uck yeah they did. They came out, and Fatty said somethign like "you might know this song, it's about 18 minutes long" and they got it started. It was the best thing i've ever seen. It was like seeing a baby born...on top of mount rushmore, with helicopters and ninjas. It rocked.

Early in the show, Mike had changed into a bra and panties that someone threw onstage. Hewas talking to people in the front, and i yelled at him "i paid 60$ for the 7 inch club, i want to put money in your bra!" he heard me, walked to the edge of the stage, and i shoved a 10 dollar bill (i wouldve put a smaller bill, if i had one) into his bra. My life is now complete.

did you go to the one in chicago on sunday, i was supossed to go, but my retarded friend bought one less ticket then he was supossed to, i heard that the decline was ****ing awesome and i would have gone just to see that.

yeah, it was in Chi town, at the HOB. Best show i've ever seen. Better than Bad religion, against me, bouncing souls, dropkick, flogging molly.... all of it.

i saw nofx at warped in '04. They played like, 15 times better this time. Maybe it was because it was the last show of that tour? maybe because it was 18 and up?

But yeah, the decline live is like, 10 orgasms at once....with ninjas, and helicopters.
