I'm not sure how to explain. But like some bands, you listen to them and really love them, then you take a break and forget about them. When you listen again, you really love them a lot. When you don't, you wonder why people would like them.

An example would be Metallica for me.

I actually watched the Off The Map DVD for the first time in ages yesterday, its so awesome. I wish they still played sets like that, and not just the big hits.

I'm really the same about that... I recently put my entire library on shuffle in iTunes, so much stuff I've only listened to once or twice, or even downloaded and forgot about that was absolutely wonderful to hear.

haha I still havent even taken the time to listen to dream theater

Hey man, haven't seen you on in a while... yeah, you're probably better off anyhow, it's over-rated emotionless shredding drivel.

Invicta_Veritas
02-28-2006, 12:21 PM
absolutely cant stand audioslave.... not only do i wonder why people listen to them, i wonder why they are even around.

SimonCore
02-28-2006, 12:40 PM
Audioslave are good. And they are a band that i usually come back listening to. They're goood because they're just rock, not hardcore, metal.....just rock.

That's not completely true. Images And Words and Awake both have amazing emotional moments (Especially Space Dye Vest) and aren't at all shredding. A lot of their newer stuff is shredding though.

Anyway, with the topic:

RHCP
Metallica
AFI
Nine Inch Nails

Meh, for the most part it seems like that to me...

Off-topic: I read your location and I was like Northampton... that's near me! and then I realized it said England, not Pennsylvania :upset:.

Children of Bodom. Whenever I listen to them it's like "man that stuff sounds amazing" but I don't listen to them very much because there's better stuff to listen too, IMO.

I am like this with Guns and Roses

Just happened to me with Guns N Roses. I watched the november rain video 2 times in less than an hour on tv and I started listening to them again.

I'm not sure I get the gist of this, but I throw in some Corrosion of Conformity and Clutch from time to time, to mellow out mostly. I'm not always in a tr00 mood :p

I hardly ever listen to anything very much. I cycle through too much to get very attached to certain bands, but every once in a while I'll find something I really really like and over-listen. Usually after I do that I won't listen to them again for a few months, haha.

Also Fear Factory. I really don't care for them, but every once in a while I'll throw them in and they're alright (with the exception of Digimortal, of course)

Yeah, Stoner Metal is big for me with not listening normally... Clutch, Sleep, High On Fire, Seemless, Lamented Souls, etc.

All of those bands are awesome, but I never go out of my way to listen to them.

Another band I thought of i usually come back to: Chimaira

Hells Bells
03-01-2006, 01:47 PM
There's a lot of bands like that...I have a disgusting amount of music on my computer and I never get around to listening to most of it. A lot of the bands I used to really be into, I don't really listen to as much anymore, but still love when I do, like Metallica, Pantera, AC/DC, In Flames, and Guns N Roses.
