I just broke my first string several minutes ago....
Annoying, to say the least.
Glad I had a backup set, otherwise I'd be screwed, no-one carries sets for a six string anywhere near where I live.
I just hate the sound of new strings....gotta get them worn in a bit.
Post some stories about strings that you've had as well

When I flew down to Mexico for spring break, I brought my bass. When I got to the hotel and I was tuning the E string, it completely uncoiled.
It was pretty intense considering it was my first string break.

When I was young and stupid, I once was trying to get out of drop D tuning and wound it up so tight that the E-string snapped (not stretched, SNAPPED). I felt like a complete idiot

"Huh, wonder how it got less than D. Oh well!"

The very first time I changed strings, I tuned the E way way high. Gave me a nice, tingling sensation on my left hand, and a little bit of blood loss. Getting string-whipped SUCKS.

I was trying to tune my 5 string from BEADG to EADGC not thinking. Everything went up fine until I got to the D string. I was tuning and thinking "It's going to snap" sure enough, the string went flying half way across my room (because it's a top loading bridge) and messed up the tuning peg. Not smart.

I slapped through my E string. When I slapped it again I hit the fretboard..

I tried tuning my G to a C, it snaped.
