hey guys, ii'm seeing pat metheny next week in adelaide!!! he's got a jazz trio with Antonio Sanchez on drums. anyone else seeing him???

How do you find the trio 99-00 album? I just bought it but I can't seem to "get" into it yet.:(

I own Still Life (Talking) and One Quiet Night, which are excellent records for those who are looking for something different in their musical lineup.

his newer stuff has sucked royally, and sounded more like noise/feedback thatn music.


Mind you, I have alot of his albums which I like very much, American Garage, Wichita Falls, Offramp and 80/81.

He's very talented, he just wastes his talent sometimes.

oh, if you ever wanted to hear an example of his worst just download Zero Tolerance for silence, but whatever you do DO NOT BUY IT.

You'll see what I mean.

Hey man, I saw that trio a few months ago in Knoxville. All I can say is, wow. They work amazingly well together, and put on a really great show, probably the best I've seen. It's worth every penny.

McBride really takes the show. Metheny is a monster player, and as a guitarist I can really appreciate his playing, but McBride is just so amazing that even he pales in comparison. And Sanchez is a monster, so it turns out to be a really awesome trio.

i made a bootleg but its bad quality for all his electric numbers

its great for the acoustic ones though

probably the best gig ive ever been to - mind you, big jazz artists never come to adelaide - ive only seen jan garbarek, chico freeman and pat metheny

I listened to The Way Up for the first time today, and I loved it :). I'm definitely going to look into some more of his stuff.
