Have you ever listened to peter frampton's album "Frampton Comes Alive?"
well if you have then it is used on tracks such as,show me the way,and most famously do you fell like we do.but that wont help you unless you've heard the songs. but A talkbox is a device that produces the "talking guitar sound". With it, your able to produce vowel sounds, as well as consonants, words or phrases. It is not a vocorder (something that electronically blends words with a musical instrument synthesizer), but achieves a similar effect through a much simpler and direct method.

it works on the principle of reproducing sound from an amplifier and directing it into the mouth of the performer. The performer's lips and vocal cavities (mouth, throat, and larynx) further create and shape the sound. The resulting "talking guitar" output is then fed through a microphone and from there is amplified.

hope that helps, but if you want to hear some great talk box get the songs:keep talking;pink floyd, show me the way and do you feel like we do; peter frampton, or some jeff beck songs (as he was the first person to really use the talk box,not frampton)
