I know a large amount of you would own basses that need 9v batteries for preamp or whatever. My question is does anybody use rechargable batteries for this or can anyone see anything wrong with using them for it?

Thanks,
Scott.

i dont personally cause i get enough time out of a battery so that it probably doesnt work out any cheaper... but no there shouldnt be anythin wrong with using them - occasionally there are a few problems with rechargables, but i very much doubt it would do any damage to the circuitry (unless its really cheap). Theres no reason why not as far as i know - might work out cheaper if you have it plugged in a lot

yes please show me too.

In my experience with rechargeable batteries is that they are fine for low load items, e.g. digital cameras and such but for more intensive application like preamps and remote controled cars and such they pretty much die off near instantly.

Just go with regular 9V, don't go the rechargeable route if there is even such a thing as a rechargeable 9V battery

digital comeras aren't low load at all my batteries last about 3 weeks max and then die off.

They don't last as long as regular ones.

That's the only real problem.

If you're ok with, that, cool.

The 9 volt rechargeables that I have had in the past tend to only give out ~7.5 volts on a full charge, and they went dead quickly. Maybe they're better now. Maybe not. but that is my experience with them
