There is a band in a recording studio right now. They are signed. They need a drummer to record and tour.
I have listened to 4(Maybe 5) of there songs.
Would you drum for something like this? Even given the fact the music isn't your thing.
Ugh, They are recording in Tampa (Where I live)

Tough call man.
I think you have to do what you makes you happy. It's like that bumper sticker I keep seeing: "follow your bliss"
If you think touring, rehearsing, and working with this band would be fun, then do it. If you don't think it would be fun in the long run, you're probably just spinning your wheels. No one will can blame you for trying though, as long as you aren't a dick about it and waste everyone's time.

If you want to go have a good time playing music and touring and playing gigs then I would definitly do it. Even if the music wasn't great but still bearable I would definitly do it. Just the chance to go and tour would be awsome, for me atleast.

Hmm...tough. On the one hand, it would be great experience, and could possibly earn you some recognition and attention, which could help jumpstart you into other things. On the other hand, if your heart truly isn't in it, it may turn into a pretty miserable experience. Just remember how many times you're probably going to be playing those songs...
Well, there's also the whole issue of artistic integrity.

I might give it a go. I am gonna sleep on it. See what happens in the morning.

What do they play and maybe I can tell you if it will grow on you.

I would really make a desicion based on how good the songs are.

It is like Disturbed, Mudvayne, Severaldust, Avenge Sevenfold.
They have actually opened for mudvayne earlier this year. But the drummer quit on them and they are in Tampa Recording. (Morris sound studio)
I would really make a desicion based on how good the songs are.I guess they are good for the genre.
/Doesn't listen to that genre.

Ha.....they're not based out of Austin, are they? I played for a band that sounds alot like them, except the notable comparison was Killswitch Engage. Wasn't really my thing...last I heard, their old drummer had joined back with them, but hey...it's a small world.

Do it man, even if you don't like the music, you don't necessarily have to like the music to have fun playing it in large concert situations. Also, the experiance and exposure couldn't hurt.

I guess alot would depend on if you get along with these guys too! It could be alot of fun if the chemistry's right, as well as being a good experience musically and contact wise.

true, I also think that kind of music is relatively open for your own interpretation of the songs. I mean I think you could even incorporate some of your foot patterns (like those in 5) you played in one of your earlier soli.
I'd definitely go for it. I don't really like those kinds of bands too well, because they sound so generic, but nevertheless this kind of music is fun to play to, imo.
