Getting 4th chair in the high school regional honor band as freshman, only two freshman made it in the entire band of 109 people and I was the only percussionist that wasn't a senior.

Hmm...I don't think I can pick a "favorite." There are so many! One of my favorite types of experiences are those moments of clarity where I'll come up with some of my best stuff. It can happen anywhere....sometimes not even at the kit, ideas just sorta pop into my head.

in my year and 2 months or so, I think my favorite moment was about 2 weeks after I got new heads for my snare and toms (G1 coated). at first, I was a bit disappointed as I had a bit of trouble tuning them (couldn't find that nice fat spot!)....but after a bunch of tweaking -- particularly with the reso heads -- I finally found it....and man do those drums sinnnnnnnnngggg now!! nice and focused & even, but also so warm and so rich. love em!

So far, first drum set. It's crap but it's my first set and I love drumming, it's so pure and free.

I learnt a new beat by Isis the other day, its very simple and the fills are no brainer...but I'm extremely proud of myself :) It grooves like a cunt
When I was playing it over and over again spot on that was a good experience
Also practising my bands songs all week at home with a metronome and then yesterday in band practise ****ing nailing them first time :)
I still suck though :(
Looking forward to ordering new kit and stuff

playing YYZ at a battle of the bands (and winning), only to realize that mr. Peart himself was, in fact, present.
Walking into my dads house on Christmas morning and seeing my very own drum set when I was 12 or so would still have to be it. It's been so long since that everything else is kind of a blur.
