At least try to spell the word right if you bold it. That makes you look like an even bigger idiot.:thumb:

Excuse my spelling its 2 in the morning.
and what?
people seem to have gotten it into their heads that magically after 12pm and before 7 am they cannot spell
we hav a pandamic!......oh sorry for my spelling its 10:45....im still not awake
if you seem to have lost part of your brain between that time then please dont bother posting...it makes you look extremely stupid
no offence
EDIT:- Dragonforce sounds extremely hard to play, a lot of metal isn't actually all that hard until you get to the solo's, its only really the length of them that makes them seem hard

Steve Vai - Fire Strings
TRUTH!
but maybe, just maybe, that's because of the difficulty of actually getting your hands on the music.
lawl indeed.
Different abilities are going to find different songs easier or harder than another. One person will be an awesome soloist but just can't palm mute, so playing a song with palm muting will be difficult for them. It all depends on the specific player's strengths and weaknesses, so it's not something that can really be assessed too well.
I mean, I've been tutoring a few people, and Smells Like Teen Spirit is a killer for a lot of guitarists out there.

I haven't done that in ages. I've done that with Battery as well and that was much harder to do.

black dog. the riff is real easy its just the timing.that killed me for a long time cause i played it in 4/4 and not 5/4 like its supposed to be.

getting a good gallop with battery is ridiculous if you downpick it all
evolution
02-27-2006, 06:15 PM
little wing has a lot of suttle melodic nuances that are kinda tuff to pick up on, technically tho it's not the hardest, just hard to make sound right.

Between The Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
the riffs are harder than the solo
its pretty basic sweeping if you ask me

he's right. the drums kick in double time and make the song feel faster than it is.

I'm talking about downpicking it. Battery was created gallop picking. That would make it harder. :thumb:
I'm past Metallica but they are fun to play to help warm up or help get the blood flowing.
allan holdsworth, frank gambale, brett garsed, etc.
takes a while to get those songs down.

Since when does that have to do with ANYTHING? As long as you're playing the right notes, the right length, and the right bpm there's nothing that should be any harder. Hell, I don't even usually do that 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 thing in my head when I play.

-Anything by Rusty Cooley
-"Perpetual Burn" by Jason Becker (anything by Jason Becker)
-Anything by Buckethead

Most of Rusty Cooley is hard because the average player doesn't have an 8 string and can't tap like that.

I still dont see why that would make a difference in the middle of the riff. 4 measures of 5/4 is still in the end, the same as 5 of 4/4.
seerofgoodpeople
03-01-2006, 11:38 PM
but it makes a big difference ,at least to me anyways, when playing with a full rhythm group.it just sounds off, but it wasnt just the middle of the riff the whole song,i mean the riff is the easy part.

Gallops are consecutive palm mutes that sound like galloping. For example, The Four Horseman and Battery by Metallica use them. It's usually an 8th followed by 2 16ths over and over.

Ok but I don't see anyone writing a waltz in 5/4 and saying it sounds like 3/4.

...but no-one writes 5-bar melodies. Most "right"-sounding music is divided in groups of 4 bars.

Eh true. But trying to play it in another time signature shouldn't make it any harder. You might just end on the 3 and.. and that might throw you off. Or something like that.

Dragonforce.
Master of Puppets at full speed with downstrokes only.
I find it easier to play that downstrokes only. When I was learning it I wasn't very good at all at alt. picking.

Try 'Since I've been loving you'.
Or learn the solo from 'Whole Lotta Love' and try and hit the 25th fret bend towards the end.

good warm up song would be "laid to rest" by lamb of god
hard song would be consider any song song that amazes you because of its fast aggressive mind crushing solos. that should eliminate enough songs to choose from i think

Why does it have to be fast, aggressive and a solo. I can think of many songs that are laid back and the riffs impress me. You don't have to like it for it to be hard. Hard is something you can't do.

really any of their songs are fairly hard but they have some really uber easy ones. Go with A7X the kick!
