Wireless, yo

My HD went to **** last Friday, can't install any OS, can't run chkdsk, now it won't even read my CD ROM drives (I can't even get it to open), or floppy drive. I ordered a new PC from Newegg last night and decided to go wireless. We have a combination DSL modem/router in the PC room downstairs, and my PC will be upstairs and down the hall. The signal would need to go about 30-40 feet out of the PC room, and straight up to reach my PC. I went with a US Robotics 108mbps network card, it had a 5 egg review from everybody. I was just wondering if this "set up" would get a decent connection (at least enough to pwn noobz).

oh yeah you'll be fine. Our wirless router is on the third floor and I can connect my laptop outside the house with a strong connection, and its not a real expensive fancy router. They do a lot better than you would think.

Did you try sticking a pin into the little hole on the front of your CD Drive for your original problem?

try kicking it till it works, thats the beavis and butthead approach. No need to thank me for this precious info.
