Anyone heard of them?

Radiohead meets At The Drive-In. I saw them live recently and they were excellent despite a few in house sound problems and the extreme campness of the vocalist. There album has just been released here (UK) and it's excellent too.

Radiohead meets At The Drive-In sounds interesting.
I like both of those bands a lot.

I've heard of Idiot Pilot, but never heard them. What's their best album?

As far as i'm aware they just have the one. I've only just gotten into them. Their main vocalist sounds like Thom Yorke but their guitarist synth player screams very much like ATDI. Two of my favourite bands.

They are good, but they are also too random. Their songs are either hit or miss, they don't seem to know what they are doing.

I reviewed their album on Sputnik if anyone wants to listen to it (It includes a link to their Purevolume if you feel like checking them out).

You would think Radiohead meets ATDI would sound like something better, not like two guys trying to be emo without being emo. It really sounds like a crappy Radiohead knock-off with some screaming thrown in there to be unique when, really, it probably does more harm than good.

They are great live. I saw them support Team Sleep.
I heard To Buy a Gun aaages before and thought it was great.....and now have the album.

They are weird they are definitely not emo...they are random....the best way i can describe them is...absiolutely beautiful and delicate music followed by by some crazy screaming and riffs

No, they're emo. One of them tries to do some really watered down version of hardcore dancing (or whatever you want to call it) and tries to be sassy, and the other's making pouty faces the whole time--when he's not screaming, of course. His scream is terribly annoying; it doesn't sound right. It sounds more like a fat guy dropping something really heavy on his foot instead of a fat guy dropping something really heavy on his foot and then getting dumped by his girlfriend of three days.

I think they're ok, I listened to three songs, it just changes so randomly at times, it's really really odd.

IHeartDisco, some music is just bad. Idiot Pilot and The Mars Volta would fall under that "some music."

Well if you say TMV are bad you'll be disagreed with by alot of people on this particular forum Im sorry to say.

I'm not going to pretend to like something just so people will agree with me. That's retarded.

Eh, I still think they're bad performers. If they stuck to being a rock band instead of the cheap-sounding electronica/screaming duo schtick maybe I'd have a better opinion on them. "Arrhythmia" is the only song on their album that I don't mind playing every once in a while.

You sure like arguing. It's a shame you're no good at it.

I don't get why you have to try to cause trouble in every thread you go in. You're not exactly a veteran of this website and it's pretty much just annoying.

If this was the pit you'd have met some witty response about your unfortunate mental retardation resulting from your mom being a whore. But it's not the pit so you won't get that in here ;-)

All everyone in here is trying to say is that while you might not like TMV or Idiot Pilot that is your opinion, not fact, so you can't really claim that they are bad unless they are incompetent. And they're original enough to show they at least have talent.

So Nyaaaa!:smash:

I was going to say that....well not in that form...more like '**** OFF!'

But I thought I beter not kick off

I agree with the hit and miss... but the hits are quite good, and the misses aren't usually bad, per se. Just boring.

I really regret missing these guys when they opened for Team Sleep.

I saw them open for Team Sleep here in NJ. Idiot Pilot were fun, it was the first I'd heard of them.

I agree with the hit or miss, i bought the album aggggges ago in the uk in the summer and i found some bits random. I dont really see how its radiohead meets atdi, the scream doesnt sound anything like cedric. But anyway yes they have good tracks and they may not be for everyone but i like them and if youre musical minded then you'll like them to.

Really they aren't hit and miss, they're just plain bad.
