I can get the perfect sound, but it loses all volume.

8x22 Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage.

Remo Powerstroke 3 Batter.
Stock bass head with cd size mic hole.
Felt Beat with dw 5000 single pedal.
no pillows or anything inside.
remo foam inner muffling ring on the batter head.

im looking for more punch and little to no resonance and im thinking it is the head combination or the muffling ring.

it might be all the resonant heads fault...because when i muffle it it loses all volume, but unmuffle i get a higher volume resonant sound. I have it tuned correctly so I thing im gonna go with this:

Powerstroke 3 Batter with EQ3 Resonant
and a small pillow slightly touching both heads
what should i do?

Just keep putting stuff in it till it sounds good...down tune both heads...tightened only until the wrinkles are gone. ive never had problems tuning with a ps3 bd head...they're the greatest.

Finger tighten the batter head then tune the reso a little more. You get a snappy boom.

you used an eq3..to focus a bass that already is already focused to the point of burning a hole in the stage..
