kind of described in the title, it doesnt have to be the best drum intro ever, but the most fitting and most flowing into the song (if your going to ask, this has no point, I'm just bored ok)

Bend&Break - Keane
I don't really get what you mean. Do you mean best Drum intro, or best song with a drum intro? If you're asking what is the best song with a drum intro, then that's a really wierd question. If you're asking for best drum intros then:
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Vital Transformation
Arcade Fire - No Cars Go
Smashing Pumpkins - I Am One, Geek Usa, Cherub Rock

the best song ever that fits this category is
Red Sparowes - Alone and Unaware, The Landscape Was Transformed in Front of Our Eyes
(there is guitar in the intro as well, but i think the focus is on the drums quite a bit)
the intro/first section of the song is honestly one of the best and most beautiful pieces of music i've heard

Hehee, I knows. They recorded the drum part of it in a swimming pool + actually used people wearing clogs to stamp.

"Gyroscope" by the Dismemberment Plan (though it's also synth and guitar)
"We Laugh Indoors" by Death Cab for Cutie
"Undone" and "El Scorcho" by Weezer, though they're more memorable than good because Pat's a very basic drummer

Not really considering the original has a better one. I don't know what the fuck you people are doing in Alt/Indie if you listen to Disturbed and Orgy.
Sorry, I forgot that musical taste can't transcend genres. The title is "Best songs with drum intros", not "Best alt/indie songs with drum intros". As for the original being better, I'd have to disagree.

Yeah, but weren't just talking about Aerosmith a few days ago? That's not really alt/indie last time I checked.

Did you use to have a Magus (Chrono Trigger) avatar?
I've had an MXer in mind that loves (loved) Jimmy Eat World and had a magus avatar, but I haven't seen him/her in ages (seeing as I had been gone from the Alt. Indie forum for ages).
Sorry to get off topic, or whatever.

Half of the Wilderness's songs have drum intros, and they're all good. Actually, they're just a good band in general.

One of the most famous ones (and the beat runs through the whole song too) is "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zep. A hip-hop drum beat in a rock song, something we could use more of honestly.
Stevie Wonder- Superstition
The Fall of Troy- Whacko Jacko Steals the Elephant Man's Bones (there was this cool distorted drum intro that got taken out of the Doppleganger version but it's still on the S/T one)
Husker Du- Something I Learned Today (seconding Nacho's choice)
Iron Maiden- Gangland (a weak song, yet such a peppy drum intro!)
Joy Division- Disorder
Melvins- Spread Eagle Beagle (hahahaha)
Minutemen- Spillage (such an awesome song on all counts)
Primus- John the Fisherman (Tim Alexander is the best, although he rarely does intro/solo stuff at all)
Primus- Eleven (sets the pace for this unusual time signature of 11/8)
Sublime- What I Got
Tool- Ticks and Leeches (T:rolleyes::rolleyes:l)

Wolf Parade - You Are A Runner... (so awesome on the high hat and snare, its just brilliant)
Dappled Cities Fly - Corpus Kinesthaesia (I doubt anyone hads heard them, but they're absolutely brilliant. Check em out. This intro flows so nicely...)

Have you seen the Absolution DVD that came with the CD? It's actually the band members all doing that,, oh and Tom Kirk. Shows them recording it. That DVD is really interesting, shows lots of different things they did when recording the new album.
Tool - Ticks & Leaches, that's all I can think of really.

I don't mean the new DVD that was just released, when the Absolution CD came out there was a making of DVD with it, I mean that one. Just to clear that up! about 40 minutes of footage on the making of Absolution.
