I don't know whether to keep my guitar amp or sell it (I'd get $40 for it but it cost $100) and get a bass amp for $50. The $50 one would be a Rogue 20W amp, then there was a $40 Drive amp on Musiciansfriend.
I guess I'm asking if having a bass amp would be better, even if was a really cheap one.
Note that I have no income & can't really wait to get a decent one.
I can't hear the low notes through my guitar amp & it made me think if it would be worth it to get a proper amp, or would a $40 amp not make a difference from a guitar amp?

No matter how much you spend on a bass amp it will produce the sound of your bass better than any guitar amp, on another note why dont you get a job?

honestly if u actually play guitar its def. not worth it. and even if u didnt its still not worth it. unless u buy some of better quality its simply not the right chioce. ive played small rogue amps and low notes sound just as bad. and the tone shaping does nothing. id suggest trying to get an extra $30-35 and invest in a decent practice amp. id suggest either peavey or ibanez. i know moneys an issue but wait this out plz!!!!! borrow money from your 'rents freinds, look homeless and ask for change, anything.

If guitar was your first instrument, and you still play it then def. don't sell. Rather wait and save up slowly, even if its a dollar a week till you're old enough for a job. Then invest in a decent practice amp. Also be carefu playing the bass through the guitar amp, you can blow it if you're not careful

I think i might be starting a band soon so I'll be playing it louder. I have a guitar but i really don't play it anymore. maybe like 5 minutes a month now...

I don't even get $1 a week, I'd save lunch money like i used to but i get free lunch now ... so the difference won't be noticeable enough to bother with a bass amp for now, even at a higher volume?

i have the guitar amp on overdrive but the gain is as low as i can get it. it's hard to hear the bottom string & the 2 top strings don't sound like a bass really so that's why I'm asking.
