I have a Stagg boom cymbal stand I put my ride on and I can't figure out how to lower it. On my other stands I just loosen the nut/screw thing and push the stand down, but on this stand it doesn't do anything?

I've heard some bad things about Stagg stands, but I've never used one. Do you have a pic of it? Maybe if we can see it we can help.

a pic would be very helpful (of the whole stand not zoomed in on the cymbal)

can you lower the boom arm? then you could just point the boom arm towards the ground
Which model? I have two of the very bottom end Stagg cymbal stands and they work the same way other cymbal stands do, but with one major difference; they can't actually do their job properly:

I don't ask much from cymbal stands, but this is just ridiculous.
