String Size

could someone tell me about what kind of differences there are between string sizes? i have just purchased a ESP LTD B-204FM bass & am wondering what would be the best sounding string(s) to whack on it?

Bassically bigger strings are bassier and smaller strings are are brighter. Thats pretty much it in terms of sound, but bigger strings take more effort to play becasue there heavier.

Also bigger strings hold more harmonic information and dont go dead as quickly.

If your new to bass you'll be fine with just a regular set- .105- .045
