I downloaded their album Voice and labeled it post-punk, but I was wrong and it defintely goes beyong my general conception of post-punk.

1905 are/were a DC punk band in the 90s and 00s, their album Voice was released in 2002. The album goes beyond any general label as far as I can see. Some songs sound like your standard Wire-esque post-punk and other songs sound like a blend of DC emo and current emo. Some songs are pure chaos and screams, others are calculated art pieces. Overall it's a interesting album.

I highly recommend this band to anyone who enjoys variety in music or just wants to try something new.

Awesome band. I think I first heard of them through some LoC interview. The switching between hardcore and mellow parts in their music is awesome.

Great description, haha. Unfortunately, I have never heard them even though they played at a show I went to once.

Realllly goood. Missed my chance to see them with LoC and From Ashes Rise since it sold out but they're from DC so I'll see them hopefully soon.

1905's alright. im usually listen to faster and harder stuff but sometimes i just want to sit back and listen to something without blastbeats

Amazing band. One of my favorite bands nowdays. Awesome Punk/Metal sound with great dual male/female vocals, and pretty damn good lyrics too. I just got their full length 'Voice' on 12" vinyl the other day... Awesome...
