Yeah, I finally finished my fretless.
Get home, put on the neck, string it up. All is fine.... Until I get to the D string. I put it on and tune it up. Ok. But when I play it it sounds dead... while the other strings are bringht.
I'm stumped, they're all from the same pack, and the correct gauges.
Help appreciated

Its not unheard of to get a dead string in a pack of strings.

Oh right, well this is the first pack of bass strings I've brought in 6 years of playing :thumb:
Should I take it back to the shop, and see if I get a refund/replacement or move on.
The shop was Andertons btw.

no harm in trying to return them and get a new pack

gah, why is everyone on here from the Guildford area? Its damn cool that they are though - we should have a meet up at the White Lyon Pub on a thursday (they have an open electric jam session going on on thursdays...its mega funky cool :thumb: )
Just go to see that bloke with dreads, or the short one that looks like a short haired version of steve bailey. Theyre nice blokes and i doubt would hesistate to give a refund :thumb:

Guildford ftw.
Actually I live closer to Chichester, but Andertons etc.
The guy with dreads sold me my $$ :D

damn right, we had a convo with him for about an hour over this hideous looking blue guitar. It was utter rank. Also, that probably means ive played youre $$ (i go there every week and play about on their new gear, and i have to say, that $$ was a gem :thumb: ) In the end he offered to sell it to us for 100 quid, due to the fact it was so incredibly horrible looking, and wasnt a fantastic player either. We, gratefully, declined, and proceeded to the warwick rack again :D
