I have a H H amp, its very very old. The head on it sucks. I think its a head anyway, its built into the amp, but can be bypassed, all the connections are external. I want to know if i could replace the head/preamp with a better one and just use the speakers (i'd need to know the impedance obviously). Also whats the difference between a head and a power amp? cos my amp has an input for a power amp

I think that your amp has an FX loop. Does it also have a jack labelled "pre-amp" next to the one labelled "power amp"?
