im a complete beginner and i have no idea about bass so i was wondering which bass would be good for a begginer im looking to play funk type stuff

Nice that you mentioned a style... Now you just have to tell us your price range.
For a beginner, I would recommend an SX. I love mine more than my other two basses... maybe because it's fretless, I don't know. It has flaws in the body and neck, but I love the tone I get.
Different strokes for different folks. :thumb:

ibanez...or a beginner usually isnt lookinfor a specific type of bass, so idk...

If you have no price range then get a musicman then you will never have to upgrade. ;)

Any good basses for a beginer who's interests are more along the lines of heavy metal? (Pantera, slayer, Metallica....) and also what would be a good amp to start with. My price range is around $600 or so for the pair. I play guitar as well but I've became more and more interested in playing bass..
