I knew a guy in u.s. who had a music store, he sold a lot of alvarez basses. well had em in stock anyway. but that was 7 or so years back and i dont' remember much about em, the finish was nice on em. he had a few 6 string ones but i could barely play a 4 at the time, so no need jacking with the 6's don't know if they still make em or not.

Alvarez used to make electric instruments, but they stopped a few years ago and now only make acoustic instruments.

For the most part, theyre all pretty decent. I used to have one (4 string, P/J, active electronics) that served me pretty well.

http://i1.tinypic.com/o8togm.jpg, Alvarez makes pretty nice acoustics, but I've never cared for any of their electric basses.

Only alvarez I've ever seen basswise was a used 6 at a GC awhile ago.

Very wide neck on that thing, I couldn't play it. (I think that was the bass that made me write off 6s completely until I played my SR506). Never got around to plugging it in because I thought it would make more sense to try something I could actually play.

there's a grey electric alvarez at a local shop.. been there for year's... it's at like $400, and doesnt seem worth it IMO... has a p/j combo... the shop is really over priced anyways... $10 for a single E string... rotosound at that!

My old friend has an alvarez guitar, it's freaking sweet.... i think he's selling it actually, never plays it anymore...

This guy I know has an Alvarez bass. It was a really nice sounding bass. I didn't particularly for how it felt but to each is own.

Nope. That was Giorgini Precision Craft. They went out of business a while ago.
