Venture guitars anyone?

Ive recently been given a les paul copy from a company called "venture" under a sticker. Anyone have information on the company, I turned up with nothing really under google. I wanted to put passives in this if its made out of real wood, or if its fake wood EMG's but im not sure. Help anyone?

Venture is a company most well known for it's surf guitars. I've heard some good things about them, but have never played one.
