Restringing Question

I broke a high e the other day, do I have to change all the strings or just replace the one that broke?

And what are the differences between types of strings, thick or thin? TY.

i dont see a point in replacing all of the strings unless they are near being thrown out, higher string gauges can give you a heavier sound but might be harder to push down, lighter strings are the opposite, anyways if you upgrade from light gauges to heavy, you gotta check out the truss rod, bridge, and intonation

The differences between string gauges is mainly the sound, and with thicker strings you can downtune.

And only change your E, if the other ones still sound okay.
