Last week, my guitarist quit on me, so my friend who was in a previous band with me is now on Vocals, Im on guitar now, our drummers playing bass, and the drummer from my first band is playing drums.

(initially my friend and i switched off playing bass and drums... i also sang when i played bass)

Im the soul of the band, i write the music, i organize the practices, i bring in covers, i scream i hoop i holler. In ever sense of the name, 'New Clear Sound' I am New Clear Sound. I decided last week, im not going to be the czar, im going to let everyone bring something in, we'll have a meeting i'll go voer everyone suggestions cool. I just got back from practice... no one brought anything in, infact the new vocalist brought his girlfriend and her friends to watch us play, they kept telling him how cool he was to have a band, and how its so sexy he plays guitar... (he doesnt play anything). I said lets get to work, the new vocalist says cool, and then the girls start flirting with everyone, and the one has nerve enough to ask me if im gay, because i keep ignoring her.

Im 21 years old, the youngest in my band is 19 and he now plays bass, everyone else is older then me... I swear im so close to making this a solo acoustic act and saying **** them...

i had to vent...

EDIT: plus the new vocalist the laziest ****er ever, he kept saying he wanted to start a band, he never wrote anything, we are in college together and he's taking thoeyr couses, he doesnt study, he doesnt bring his music to choir... this lazy **** ahh.... i want to destroy HIM!

gig saturday night, no1 will learn the songs that fast, the chords progessions are pretty complicated. Most of the lead stuff is played on bass. the bassist knows all of those lines and **** so we're good on that.

Just find a new guitarist and keep everything else how it was.

Ever ****ty dude. Hope things improve. I try to contribute as much as I can in my band but, I've been playing about one and a half years and don't know much theory. But I started taking lessons so I can add some cool lines to our songs.

Aww man, that sucks *** dude. After your gig I suggest you get a different arrangement, and if they don't comply, find another band. In the end you're just going to end up hating everyone. Good luck dude.

On a side not, the girls your friend brought are the reason I don't like having people at practice, because then it turns into a performance. You're there to work on stuff, not perform for people that have the nerve to ask you if you're gay. :p

I dont mind people coming over to watch my band play as long as we know they're coming. If we have a practice and we have to get things done and such then no ones allowed to come over and watch. You get distracted when people are watching you so its harder to concentrate on the things that need to get done.

And yeah, you should really play with people you get along with and are on the same level with. If you play with some one just because you need a member and they're the only one available it most likely wont work outt hat great.

That sucks man. Truly. My guitarist/vocalist is going to Ireland for a year, so the band is gonna have to be on hiatus until he gets back. This is crap because we were just beginning to make a name for ourselves and get it all together.
