I've just now been dabbling in these genres, and I'm having a hard time finding a good, active forum to discuss artists and learn about new music.
I'm just wondering, is there much of a fanbase here, or should I continue Googling through tons of Japanese websites looking for something I can actually read?
I looked through the first four pages of this area, and found nothing even similar to this subject. Perhaps I should be trying this in another forum area?

In case you guys don't know what Visual Kei is, it's basically the equivalent of glam over here in the US. It's not really the music, but the extravagant stage performances and dressings.
Here are some links to videos by a band known as Dir en Grey, maybe someone else but me will get interested in this fascinating and strange genre.

I'm especially fond of that second video and song.

A little more explanation would be appreciated. And I'll go check out those other forums, thanks. :D
There's a J-rock fanbase here, sure. You must have checked out X-Japan by now, right? Get L'Arc~En~Ciel's Ray too.

I've head X Japan mentioned many times over in R&M, but I'm more into the less metalish stuff right now. I am having a hard time finding L'Arc's stuff on Soulseek. Everyone keeps telling me to check them out.
