this is the video thread, this was created so that we can post videos whenever someone feels the need to post one.

to be honest, i made this thread to stop the majority of the n00bs from reposting this.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y-b8VHC5MQE&search=12%20old%20drummer

that is tony royster, he is now 22, and hes not amazing. do some research.

ill add some videos in myself. the amazing videos will be edited into this post.

happy video-watching.

EDIT: this was actually posted recently by flamacue in a different thread. i just think its awesome, hes a brilliant drummer and gives buddy rich and neil peart a run for there money, so i reckon it would be worth reposting.

heres a video of ivan pacheco who i believe is part of DCI, if someone knows this for sure please correct me, i just thought it was an excellent snare solo.

just a toy involving drumming that i thought was kinda sad.

just thought this was a good show of what you can become if you only practice speed. and not any actual skill. youll end up wearing a god mask in a band called berserker. wtf mate?

i think everyones seen the kid that argues with his mom over chocolate milk while leaving his xbox live mic on. for your enjoyment, the bitch kid.

this was one of the earliest videos i saw as a drummer, not really my stuff. but i think it to be tasteful for metal drumming. (just noticed i never actually put the link on.)

http://www.vornagar.com/videos.html

im just adding the link to his drummer world page. instead of linking all three videos. as all three are displayed on that page.

Bobby jarzombek. Has been posted one or two times before but i like his playing, the interesting crash setup, and the tuning of his drums. :)

http://drummerworld.com/Videos/bobbyjarzombekschool.html

styler
02-19-2006, 09:36 PM
lol i love that video, it would take so much practice to get it so you know where the crash and that china is, it would have to be setup perfectly.

lol i love that video, it would take so much practice to get it so you know where the crash and that china is, it would have to be setup perfectly.

He uses two crashes behind him. I think 19" and 16".

styler
02-19-2006, 09:40 PM
oh my bad, i thought one was a china.

Chester
02-19-2006, 09:40 PM
i dont think it woudl take tooo long, because you can play a drumset with your eyes closed once you have been playing it for a while, so it would prolly be wierd at first, but not be that bad after a while

styler
02-19-2006, 09:46 PM
but if the angle is off even slightly, that would make it so difficult to play. not counting if the crash was to fall on him. mind you i would laugh at that.

Chester
02-19-2006, 09:52 PM
hahaha, that woudl be kind of interesting, he some how like hits under the cymbal and knocks the stand on to him so the cymbal falls right on top of him...

it would probably be easy to break a stick, or maybe even the cymbal if you arent careful, because ur right, if you angle the stick wierd or hit it like perpendicular, that wouldnt b cool

styler
02-19-2006, 09:55 PM
it wouldnt be kool at all :( does anyone like the idea of this thread?

aznriceball
02-19-2006, 09:59 PM
i like my china like that, like john blackwells funky video. its no more different having your crash in front, off to the side..etc

punkrocker2o1
02-19-2006, 10:16 PM
He has a rack with extensions for the back two cymbals.

styler

just thought i would bump the thread, as i dont want any more royster videos poppin up.

aznriceball
02-20-2006, 01:03 AM
yeah, royster vids are becoming as taboo as barker and joey flamefests

styler
02-20-2006, 01:20 AM
barker suxxorz! so does joey!

im just kidding. it is pretty bad though. there not even good debates either, or good reasons to get riled up.

i've been really into jarzombek lately... and man has he improved since his earlier days. His posture is miles ahead, and his technique is getting there. His cymbal placement of his two 16" on each side, they're still too close. right in the beginning of that vid there, you can see his right hand hit a right cymbal and his arm is at like a basketball-follow-through goosenecky kind of angle. (it's that 4th little blurb of notes there in the beginning, where his right hand goes "crash crash" and he has to duck his head to give his arm enough space)

he needs to spread his kit out more.

Bahahahahahaha... "I haven't started a band yet, but I'm working on it"

"That wasn't it, that's just something I'm working on."

hahahaha

And then his 2nd tom is higher in pitch than his first one. And the floor tom just sounds like arse.

Oh I know, what a joke. Ive been hearing about those guys for years.... when ever I told one of my death metal friends I was a drummer theyd always say "Ohhhhh you know that guy from bezerk?" In which case Id start screaming about what a joke and disgrace bezerk is to anything with the label of music.....

Well, I'll admit The Berzerker and its drumming isn't very creative, there are much more creative and good death metal/ grind bands out there.

styler
02-24-2006, 09:35 PM
hm, im pretty sure he is in a band though, i remember someone telling me. cant remember who or what band though.

either way, with berzerker, its hard to be creative when your going that fast. i admit though. he didnt need to be going that fast.
