eh..look at my "studio" thread. the 13" tom was the first, and the 12" was the last good one (the 10" was a fluke, it was crappy wood)

Yea it is a good movie. But, im almost done putting the lugs on. Using the screw driving my drill doesnt fit in the drum.

Thank you sir, it was my first try. I believed it turned out well. My dad used to own a furniture finishing bussiness so he told me what to do.

Nah, it had a red wine wrap on it before. The stain i used was called red cherry. But it really looks good natural.

Very nice. As for my finish, im doing a dark green stain. 2 layers of stain i think and 3 layers of gloss.

i wish there was refinish club here!

There's getting to be enough of these threads and peopple getting into building and refinishing that I think it would be cool to have a little sub-section.

is that a CB?

Nah, its a rockwood. It sounds decent for a starter set.

slickrick1688 thats sounds nice, you need to find away to get pictures for us.

And, Ming-a-Ling that would be awesome, i have noticed alot of threads about refinishing or rewraping your drums.

Well i took the stain and a paper towel. Put alot on the paper towel, and start from the bottom(or whichever on you want to be darked) and basically slide it from the dark side to the the light. I never apply any to the light side directly. Just through the slide. Then on the second coat i did the same thing but on to about 3/4's of the drum. And so on, not very good advice but it looks decent on mine.

just wondering, because i found a cheapo CB sb tom on ebay and it had the exact same mount :) cheap hardware finds its way around :p

again, nice work! some feedback on mine would be appreciated too :)

Haha, i have a CB too!

ooh, superkick, thnx for the advice, but i dont think that will work for me cuz i want it to be green and like fade into blue, so id be using two different stains, il try that technique though when i practice on wood first, thanks

Heh. It is, But it was a good movie. I didn't think about the movie until after i put it up there. So its a win win situation. Circa is great
