I like Stars a lot, caring about whether they've already peaked or not is retarded.

It was a joke.
It's hard to like Stars when everyone talks about how great they are; the hype tainted the music and the letdown was tremendous. I can appreciate the music and recognize that they're a talent group of people, but I wouldn't listen to them if I didn't have to.

Don't worry about them, they're either joking or they're elitist assholes. Just listen to whatever you want.

Indie's really not a genre of music. Of course there are a few prevalent genres within indie, but not all bands in those genres are necessarily indie. To be indie you have to be unsigned or signed to an independent label. People think indie's a sound. Well, it's not. I thought I should tell you before someone says otherwise, and you end up being a ****ing chump, bothering the hip and elite with dumbass questions, like, "Is Conor Oberst writing another album?" or spouting bull**** like, "Sonic Youth is the biggest indie band ever." If you're going to start wearing scarves wear a sweater with them. You'll look ridiculous without one.
If you're into finding artists similar to the ones you already listen to, try allmusic.com or tinymixtapes.com--they'll only list similar artists if they've reviewed an album by any of those bands. There's more, I'm just too goddamn lazy to write them down.

I wasnt really asking you... sarcasm doesnt carry well over the Inet.
Ha, im prob commiting a sin as far as you are concearned, but who Conor Oberst?
heres the thing, ive been on these forums for ahwile longer then the little # under my name would suggest, i dont venture much outside the bass and jazz/funk forums because i find most of the people outside of it to be elitist assholes, and trolls, you fall under both categories. ive found myself liking a couple new bands, in music in a scene, ive never liked before, so i come here because i hope a couple decent souls could point me in the right direction concearning them. honestly, i used Google, and wikipedia before i came here, because i knew some asshole would try to flame or insult me because i like them, or they are 'old news'. if you have nothing constructive to say shut the **** up, and dont post.

I couldn't make sense of that post.
Calling me an elitist is the biggest compliment I could ever receive.

Although I don't find them very consisent in their albums, they write great pop songs. Along with the other Arts & Crafts bands. Plus their girl singer is fantastic.

Don't listen to them then. I'm pretty sure no one's going to kick your *** if you don't.
