I really like what I've heard by these guys, but I don't know what album I should buy first?

First off, great choice, EiTS own.

I have The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, and I really like that. The Only Moment We Were Alone is like nine minutes of pure post-rock goodness.

I hear Those Who Tell The Truth.....etc is good as well.

Thanks, I think I'll go out and buy The World is Not a Cold Dead Place now.

Those Who Tell the Truth = depressing, themed about war, death, etc, louder

The Earth = pretty, about love and such, softer

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place is a good one to start off with, or How Stragne, Innocence.

I think Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever is easily their best one.

They're all good

Even the unreleased Travel In Constants is awesome. There's nothing they have done that will let you down.

First Breath After Coma is my favorite by them.

IMO, the Travels in Constants album and How Strange, Innocence are overrated because of their difficult-to-come by status.

TiC was written in 8 days and it shows. yes, they pulled off the compositions beautifully for such a short time, but all those epic climaxes that make them great are gone. it's just short songs built off of 2 or 3 riffs that just start and end with no dynamics or rising/falling action.

HS,I is also overrated. it's regarded highly because it's their first CD and used to be out of print (only 100 copies i think...) but i managed to get ahold of it a few months ago when it was rereleased. all i can say is that i am disappointed. it's horribley produced, few songs have build-ups and epic climaxes, they just seem to start, play some quiet riffs that sound nice but don't ever evolve, and slowly the song just dies off. no layered guitars playing riffs that harmonize together like a classical composition played on modern instruments, just straight tracks.
it sounded like an unexperienced garage band who heard EitS and tried to be like them.

I agree about HSI, but The Rescue is awesome, provided that you keep in mind what it is. It's certainly not up to the standard of their two more recent albums, but it is a really great collection to listen to in anticipation for their new album. "Day One" is my favourite from it.

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place is probably the best album to start on.

The Rescue was all right for the time they spent on it, but it's definitely not all that good.
