They need their own thread. I don't care if this is pop-punk, they are liked by lots of members here, and are one of the most talented and hopeful bands around today I think.

If you haven't heard them, I suggest checking out their Purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/thefalloftroy) for songs off new album Doppelganger and their Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/thefalloftroy) for some older songs. They sound like At The Drive-In on speed, with more screaming.

Bleh, one of the most overrated bands ever. Their the new scene thing over here and I think they're pretty bad. They have their moments and I guess the guy is pretty good at guitar but I think on the whole they're way overrated and mediocre.

I think theyre a great band, pushing the limits of hardcore. Tom Serak is a crazy guitarist and the fact he sings/shouts/screams as well is amazing talent. Their music is just so complex and inspiring.

The vocals are rather meh... He can scream quite well but his singing is weak and forced, probably the main reason why they aren't on my favorite bands list. Their amazing guitar is what redeems them.

I listened to Reassurance Rests in the Sea on my friend's ipod, but besides that and maybe a couple other songs, they're not that good. Too much screaming, first of all. I don't mind some screaming, but they do it way too much.

The guitarist is good in the sense that he sings and plays lead at the same time, yet he does it really well. You can't say the music is boring and uninspired though, unless you have no ears, because it's hardly boring, and hardly uninspired. I do agree that they are overrated.

I find them insanely boring. I hate that whole genre of music, though; flashy "scene rock" never caught my attention. The closest band is Chiodos, who I loved for a week but I now consider decent at best.

I was quite impressed with some of the guitar work, and seeing as though they only have one guitarist is pretty awesome. Really talented if you ask me.

Yeah I think they're a great band. It's one thing to not like them, but they are talented. HH has 3 guitarists and this guy is 100000x better than all of them put together. I wouldn't say they are scene or overrated either. Not that many people I know listen to them. Bands like Atreyu, Underoath, and As I Lay Dying is the kind of stuff every is listening to. Regardless, I just listen to bands I like.

when i first heard Chiodos I liked them, but it seems like their singer sings intentionally out of tune which gets annoying.

I really like the fall of troy. they're very catchy, but pack some power at the same time.
Where I live, nobody has ever heard of them, so they don't get hyped. Maybe that's why I'm not getting tired of them

They've been touring for pretty much a year straight, so they are taking a little time off to write the next record being released next year.

I don't really dig the Fall of Troy on record, but their live show absolutely blows me away every time I see them. It's so intense and he's a great guitar player. They definintely have a set you can get into even if you don't know any of their stuff.

Ghostship full-length is probably coming out after the next album in 2007. Although Thom's new project is still being promoted.
