I've never seen a topic made about this man and that's a damn shame.

His music sounds like a cross between The Unicorns, Robot Ate Me (another fantastic band), and maybe even a bit of Postal Service thrown in there. The outcome is excellent raw, albeit lo-fi synth pop. It's a bit hard to get used to on first listen, the only instruments being a few Casio keyboards, but after you get past the poor audio quality, which I believe adds character to the music, you'll find a certain warmth in the gloominess of it all and maybe even a new friend. Or something to that effect.

If you're interested, check out Pocket Symphonies for Lonesome Subway Cars or, my favorite, Twinkle Echo.

I was about to try to check some out one time, but then I think something turned me off from the idea... maybe I saw a review compare them to something I didn't dig or something.

But the Unicorns/Robot Ate Me comparison has reintrigued me....

Their new album that comes out soon, 'Etiquette' is really good. I got it a few weeks ago to review for my college radio station.

I also have Answering Machine Music and Packet Symponies...

I love his voice, and his lyrics are wonderful, and for such limited production, he does a great job making pretty decent lo-fi electronic music with just his casios.

Could it have been a comparison to Atom and His Package? I don't see any similarities except that they're both solo artists that use primarily keyboards.

'Jean, if you're ever in Portland' is one of my all-time favorite pop ditties.

Casiotone 4 lyfe.
