I haven't seen Stewart mentioned on here too much, so I thought as a followup to my thread regarding "So Lonely", I'd create this so all you Copeland fans can talk about stuff you like by him, beats, just general Copeland facts and all.
So yeah! Discuss! :thumb:

Heres a little tid-bit. His family moved to the middle east when he was an infant. They lived there for most of his childhood. Wierd?

Fact: His dad was a CIA agent.
A friend of mine Interviewed Miles Copeland his brother regarding a Belly dancing show he was throwing at a local casino (The River Rock Casino for those of you who live in Vancouver).

Last gig I played, we covered Roxanne. Tis a lovely groove indeed. It went so well that a week later we went into a studio at our bassist's college and recorded it.
Interesting lil fact.... The Arctic Monkeys song "When The Sun Goes Down" has a big *** Roxanne reference:
"And I've seen him with girls of the night
And he told Roxanne to put on her red light."

Driven to tears has always been on of my fav copeland tracks.
He roasts up some nice fills in that one, uses the big octobans quite a bit too.

Everything he plays sounds so smooth and so natural. He makes the basic punk beat in so lonely sound good.
And lol at the pic of Copeland. I remember reading about that on Wiki. Lovely kit though. It really sounds like he uses a smaller kit on alot of recordings.

I was never really a fan of The Police, sort of take em or leave em, but I always liked Copeland's work and love the Oysterhead album.
I heard Oysterhead were in the first stages of a second album, does anyone know if that's true and when it's expected?

anyone else agree that in alot of the polices stuff, where the lyrical content is dark, copeland seems to make it funkier with his feel? i reckon without him they'd seem really really new-romantic and boring. haha 80s emo.

Murder by Number is an awesome song.
No one ever talks about it but it's my favorite Police tune.
