I've been trying to find a combonation of heads for my snare. I want a loud, high pitched crack that can also provide delicate ghost notes. I would prefer Evans, because they are the only heads my tourqe key works on. All help apritiated (or however it's spelled).

Haha, that's a gimmick if I ever saw one. Coated G1 or Coated Ambassador if you want to leave the illusion :)

Are you talking about the key? Because it works very well on Evans heads, not so much on everything else.

this is for tension, not set to any specific head. your a marketing victim. anyway, if you must, go get a coated g1, i could care less since its the exact same as a coated ambassador.

I'm working on tuning by ear in my drum lessons, but I have yet to perfect it.

tuning is an art that takes many years to perfect, so dont be discouraged by that :)

Well, anyone can do it. So long as you know how to make the tension rod turn you can do it.
If you like the sound then whatever.
