I just thought they dragged on, they probably did take the píss out of the crowd but i was so bored during their set that i can't remember it. They did a drum duel like Metallica in Live Shít which was pretty cool.

Hey Trooper. Most of the mods don't like when people double, or triple post. Use the edit next time. Then post after someone else has. Or you might get banned. Just thought I'd help. Try copying your last to posts then deleting them and editing your first post about your video and past it in there. But you don't have to.

As for concert stories, at my school there's this big lady, I mean she could be a professional football player. She's a secuirty campus lady, but at the San Diego Sports Arena she's a secuirity gaurd. And when Metallica played I saw her down on the floor, and some idiot jumped down from his seat and tried running into the crowd so he could get up to Metallica, she chased him down and tackled his ***. When I went back to school I gave her props.

I wish Jason was still with the band. I'm not ripping on Rob, but it's a huge change going from Jason to Rob :\

Not to mention that Jason was my idol in many different ways.

Oh well. Another thing that pisses me off is that nobody around here plays music.

There's two bassists, me and one of my friends, and he doesn't even really play much. There's four drummers, one of which doesn't like me, one that only likes stuff like Nirvana who also plays guitar, one that's a few years older than me that goes to high school and then one that likes Metallica who also plays guitar, which me and him are good friends.

There's maybe five guitarists. Three of them are mediocre, one of them is the drummer that only plays Nirvana and stuff like that, then one of them is aforementioned friend who likes Metallica.

There's so many songs that I want to play, but we have no drummer. It annoys the hell out of me.

Godsmack were an okay support, I think their laser lights and 2 drum kit thingy were their only highlights.

Metallica are awesome live, you never know what they're going to play, thats the best bit (except for the obvious like Enter Sandman, One, Nothing Else Matters and Master of Puppets)

Bazarov

Wow, there isn't many Godsmack fans in this thread it seems like. What sucked about Godsmack when I saw them is Sully was all "Come on San Diego get the **** up, don't give that crap about how you're only hear to see Metallica" then he said something about being a punk or what ever for not getting up. I was in the handicap level because my dad is handicap, and this kid in a wheelchair next to me looked sad because people started standing up infront of him and he couldn't see over. I felt sorry for him.

Call of the Ktlulu has to be my favorite of the Metallica instrumentals. I heard this Metallica song on the radio, the lyrics were:

I can't remember the rest, but I thought it was actually pretty lame. Is this a Metallica owned song, or them doing a cover?

Just because if they release ****ty music now, does that make RTL, MOP, etc. bad too? Old music is gonna be good even if they release pop punk music.

Bazarov

They should tour, that'd be awesome. But Kerry King is a dick and probably hasn't accepted the apology. But Megadeth and Slayer toured with each other with the Clash of the Titans tour. And I think that was at the beggining of the Mustaine/King fued, they could do it, if they stayed away from each other.

But then, Dave kicked Dissection off the Gigantour because they were "Satanic" and didn't want to tour with them. Man, Dave, c'mon so what if they're evil music let them play you don't have to listen to them.

Huber

Mustaine is still mad at Metallica for putting him in their movie. He said he didn't want it in.

Anyways guys, the Tool thread (I may have had something to do with it  ) is provoking everyone to work on their covers. They have one song complete, and two songs that need just a little more to be complete.

I was just practicing drums so my feet hurt. In a short while I'll be willing to record something.

I'd try and do something that doesn't have a hard lead part so we can have someone play the solo, I think that's what held us back from doing Seek and Destroy before.

If you listen to St. Anger and forget about what everyone else has made you think about it, you might enjoy it. There's a good number of people here (me included) that enjoy that album a lot.

Lots of people hated the album before they even heard it because they heard it was like "Nu-Metal garbage LoLz!!!1", but really it's rather thrashy and a cool new direction for Metallica.

Give the album another spin, you might just like it.

Awesome, I am a drummer myself, I am learning Master of puppets on guitar also.. I hope to cover the song playing it all myself!

Record drums, then bass over it, then guitar at the same time as vocals.. Wish me luck! I plan to do the same with Seek and destroy also.. That song seems much easier on guitar though.

[QUOTE=Sliptallica]Glad to see some more open minded people who like St. Anger :thumb:

At first, I thought it was pretty good, not their best, but an enjoyable listen, with about three solid songs. Like, 3/5 stars. However, I was on vacation and I listened to pretty much the entire album, and I was really impressed.

After listening to it, I LOVE just about every one of them. I don't now about you guys, but I like "All Within my Hands." "Sweet Amber" also has a really cool intro. Don't pass up St. Anger, it is an excellent album with a lot of creativity

about the new album, i heard that they are going to take a few songs off of st.anger and re-record them to better quality in apology for fans.

I have also heard about the new album, but an apology? No way. St. Anger was great. Anyways, I heard that for the new album is supposed to be like one of their old ones, like "Master of Puppets", or AJFA. That would be great

A school orchestra would be bad to choose because kids playing violins would be a really good way to kill people, having bows launch everywhere. So get a bunch of drunk rednecks, and tell 'em to learn Master bluegrass style, and cover the Bluegrass Tribute version. The Bluegrass version actually isn't that bad.

BatteryThe act of beating or pounding.
Law. The unlawful and unwanted touching or striking of one person by another, with the intention of bringing about a harmful or offensive contact.

An emplacement for one or more pieces of artillery.
A set of guns or other heavy artillery, as on a warship.
An army artillery unit, corresponding to a company in the infantry.

An array of similar things intended for use together: took a battery of achievement tests.
An impressive body or group: a battery of political supporters.
Baseball. The pitcher and catcher.
Music. The percussion section of an orchestra.
Electricity.
Two or more connected cells that produce a direct current by converting chemical energy to electrical energy.
A single cell, such as a dry cell, that produces an electric current.

I'm guessing its about beating or pounding

The tribute:
The song "Battery" is an indirect tribute to the "Old Waldorf Club" in San Francisco on Battery street.

The subject matter:
The song is about a battery in the sense of beating each other up.

James once said: "There's a good and a bad side of a battery. We were very good at the negative."

Yeah but I like the four horsemen better because of that riff at about 2:35-3:00. That is the coolest riff I've ever heard in my life...from metallica.

Yeah, I think they didn't want someone better to replace Cliff.

Les Claypool did try out for Metallica after Cliff died and they did have a problem with him being too good. But he actually changed his mind because James was drunk at his audition and kept on being an *** to him because he was better. Check this vid out of james singing, he really sucked back then.

He used a voice thing that gave his voice more distortion to record all the albums. That's why his voice sounds way different live and on St. Anger, as you can tell. He didn't use it live or on St. Anger.

I agree. Even the screams in that song were louder and more profound, even so in the studio version. He was probably trying to hard.

I watched the Live Sh*t version of that for the first time and it was pretty awesome. they didn't play the first solo but otherwise it rocked

Yes, I like James' vocals on AJFA, my least favorite with his vocals is Kill em' All just because he sounds like a whiney 16 year old, but I still like that album.

The album one IMO was lame anyways. People literally voted for the Floyd album just because it was Pink Floyd. But if you look at sputnikmusic.com and see what's on top, it's Lateralus, because when you look at Lateralus and only Lateralus, and then DSOTM only, you rate them differently and as albums. Not just because a band is legendary or something.

But meh, that's over, and has been for awhile.

I doubt any of the intelligent posters in this thread, and in all of MX, would cheat the polls. They understand that it's wrong, and it's not even that big a deal who wins anyways. It's just something to look forward too, that next poll. Nothing more.
