I would just barely have to give a little nudge to one. It's such a great song, one of the best on that album. Disposable heroes is is just in your face thrash, it's a great song as well, but one, that song just blows my mind everytime i hear it.

It has been their show opener since sometime back in the 80's. There will be sites telling you the exact show they started doing it with probably if you're interested. The composer was Ennio Moricone (I believe that's how you spell it!).

Also, the thing about Ktulu. He is based off of a character called Cthulhu, who was a creature of unspeakable horror, and had tentacle-esque protrusions from his mouth area, and large wings. He was infact a lord of all, and all who looked upon him would turn to gibbering wrecks.

I think that you should start out by getting the 80s stuff...then move into the 90s. I think that for a new listener who hasnt expireanced much metallica should go as metallcia did form KEA to st anger. I would suggest you go in the order they were made.

the only thing i know is that metallica is my all-time favorite band, that they are good musician but still there are many others greater than them, also my favorite album is aenima, my favorite guitarist is Hendrix, my favorite bassist is C. burton and my favorite drummer is Danny Carey.

Isn't Herman Li the guitarist from dragonforce? If so, yes, he does beat petrucci speedwise. There's a vid on their site of him doing the solo in studio for valley of the ****ed. Awesome. Also the solo in Black Fire is fast as well. :chug:

mmm... let's add some metallica then... I've noticed that as Metallica got their tuning lower, and they got a lot crappier. See, they started with standard. by the black album, they had some 1/2 step down songs, and they started going downhill. reload's "fuel" is for sure 1/2 step down, and the album gets metallica worse. In fact I shouldn't have generalized. Disc 1 is amazing, the other one is...meh...not so good. the first one has really amazing covers, which I suppose are from the early days. Or is disc 2 the one with the early days covers? Whichever it was it pwns completely the other one. :thumb:

Have any of you guys ever thought you might be fanboys? No offence to no one, I just thought of bringing that up. For the longest time, there would be threads like "Best rythm guitarist/Best soloist/Best solo/Fastest player/Coolest Song" and i would undisuptedly nominate Metallica. Then I listened to other bands. And now i simply nominate Symphony X lol but it sorta made me feel like a fanboy.

I agree with your point there, but it is all subjective, personally I have grown up listening to Metallica, Motorhead, Maiden, Rush, Sabbath, Floyd, And deep purple...
When i was the age of 8 I would never go and play one of these albums, I was more intersted in the pop genre of music, but when i was about 12 one day i played Metallica - The Black album, I accually enjoyed that CD more than all of the ones above that were played to me.
I never planned on buying an album but 2 weeks before my 13'th birthday i was in town with my Nan, and auntie and I was walking past countless CD's tapes ect: Then I spotted a Metallica CD called Ride the Lightning, after an incredible amount of persistance i finally got my own way and got it for an early birthday :D
Of course i had only ever heard the black album, so when the intro track Fight Fire with Fire kicked in i was a little shocked lol.
But I got used to the CD and it made me look for heavier CD's...
Anyway, I am 17 now, I have hundreds of CD's in my room but when i walk into it i will 9/10 times go strait for a Metallica album, I find there music is perfect for me...
If i have just finished work S&M goes on...
If I have a gig soon RTL goes on,,, Gets me pumped up!!!
and the list goes on...
Personally they are my favourite band. although i love the music Metallica create, I do agree that musician wise they are definatly NOT the best...
I mean, i know drummers locally (Including myself) That could outbeat Larz Ulrich, same with Kirk... ect:

So yea, who here is irked by all the bashing in the results of round 2 thread? james isn't an incredible soloist, but he's still a great guitarist. sure there are more deserving guys, but its annoying to hear 2 amazing guitarists get bashed so much
