I think you might be thinking of his diamondplate EX.

http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_ex.htm

It's the first guitar on the top.

Sorry guys, i went out this weekend that´s why i am only replying today.

Thanks Mister_Che for the link but although the guitar is very similar i think it is different, this one has four lines together in the body drawings, the other one only has one.It does a pretty effect when the light reflects there.

Lilmetallica, glad you liked my avatar, i made it myself.

LarsAgi007 nice work, i really like statistics so your post was like heaven(my favourite is in number 13)

Instead of matching the 6th string on the 5th fret with the open 5th string, match the 7th fret of the 6th string with the open fifth string.

I think it is unlikely that they are recording, they normally say when the tallica boys hit the studio on www.metallica.com , I think if they could they would try to get it out by X.mas to increase sales, but if not about March 2006, This gives them time to release a few singles, then go on tour.

Nothing else Matters has always been my favorite off the black album. The only song on St. Anger that I cn stand is the Un-named Feeling, and that song isn't really even that good(IMO).

Just had a listen to kill em all, and just wondered if anyone else finds this a difficult album to listen to?
i totally respect the playin coz it lighting fast, but its seems to me to have much less soul than the other albums and more of an attempt to play as fast as they can. kirks sols especially, i think in AJFA and Justice kirks solos are at their best and they seem to contribute to the song, but on kill em all i cant help but think he is just hammering out anything as fast as he can!

so im gonna start the topic of dave mustaine...I personaly love the guy and feel no hate toward him because of what happened with him and the guys in metallica, but some people hate him because of what happened. How do you guys feel bout him and what happened?

Mister_Che
04-12-2005, 05:09 PM
As stated by him in SKOM:

"I wish I could go back and wake up to see you guys tell me to go to AA."

Or something like that. I personally wish he would've stayed with the band.

i liked dave when i figured out he was in megadeth, hated him after i found out what happened between him and metallica, loved him after some kind of monster and when metallica ruled the world, i never realized how extremely talented he really is and how much he influenced metallicas early style up until the black album

Yes True.. I wonder what Metallica would have been like with Mustain in there the whole time???
I think they would have certainly been heavier, and probably more old Skool..

Hears a though: Try and mix Megadeth and Tallica into one song.. Kinda like a Metallideth remix lol

Yes true... But would they have had Bob Rock as the producer if mustain was there i wonder. I know Mustain was a little insane, hense the reason he got the boot, I have a DVD called Dark souls.. It says in there how when he bit a friend of hetfields neck and took out a chunk the band decided it was enough..

I think Mustain unfortunatly would have broken the band up to be honest... As Jaymez said, its either he goes, or we all go!

I like Metallica more than Megadeth because they have some variation within each record. Where as Dave wrote Megadeth the other way around. Each album had a different sound, but within those albums there was little variation. I like both bands a whole lot, and Megadeth isn't far behind Metallica on my list, but I prefer the style of Metallica's albums.

A little proof is Kill Em' All. Kill Em' All sounds to me honestly like a Megadeth album with James on vox. There's not much variation within that album, it's just thrash to the max. Something tells me Dave had something to do with that.

Metallica with Dave:
Kill Em' All
Ride The Lightning (A Little Bit)

Just Dave:

Shame really, since we have no idea what mustaine would have done with MoP.

Yah it was definitly better that Mustaine left. I mean, i have nothing against him, but as has been stated before: After he left Metallica made so many great songs, with so many memorable Kirk solos.

And another important thing is that if Dave never left, there would be no Megadeth, so i think that it was overall better for the metal world for him to leave.

Im not saying every band should kick out a good member so he can form another good band. Im just saying that it was lucky that Mustaine was so succesfull after his short and sweet run with Metallica.

There would still be Fade To Black, Burton wrote that song after the band's equiptment was stolen, Kirk wrote the solos.
Mustaine is far superior, in my opinion, not because of the technical skill compared to the two, but what Mustaine has done with himself.
Completely self-taught, he could be a role model to anyone.
He has had some of the best musicians by his side. Think about it, Dave Ellefson, Nick Menza, Marty Friedman (Or Chris Poland).
I agree he's a bit of an emo bitch sometimes, but when he's not, he's seriously deserving of being a role model.

Metllica with Mustaine, would be pretty sick.
I'm glad they kicked Mustaine out though, Megadeth > *.
And, mustaine helped write some of MoP, but doesn't get credit for it.

A couple yeah, but James as a lead guitarist isn't particularly special, his skill lies in rhythm.

Yes, I think james is the most talented of all 4 of them.

So do I.

I think mustaine and the guys should hook up one more time for one more album....I think that would be kick ***!

Lineup:
James Hetfeild-Rhythm Guitar And Vocals
Kirk Hammett-Lead Guitar
Dave Mustaine-Lead Guitar And Vocals
Lars Ulrich-Drums
Rob T.-Bass

that would be a kick *** album if they went back to the 80s style!
That would be pretty cool! :D It would probably do really well too considering you get the megadeth fans and the metallica fans to buy it, but I doubt that it will ever happen because Dave got mad at the memebers of metallica because of the Some Kinda Monster movie. :upset:

Dave Mustaine refered to Some Kinda Monster as "some kinda bullshit".

James can sing, play drums, play guitar, and sing while playing guitar (which I find to be pretty hard). He is very talented, but im not going to say hes more talented than the other members. I think Lars and Kirk can do things on their instruments that James can't.

metalcritter666
04-13-2005, 10:30 AM
that would be sooooooooo cool. it's exactly what i was thinking.

Dave Mustaine has actually made amends for the bullshit he kept saying about them in the early 80s, but I don't think he approves of the movie, as metal guitar pointed out. I don't think he is fond of Metallica's commercialism and the band definately wouldn't be like that had he stayed.

Hey all, I need an opinion on this, On Friday i am going to our local Cemitary and i wan't to put a little marker or something in memory of Cliff Burton (For all of you who dont know him, Metallica's former bassist who died when the bands tour bus crashed resulting in Cliffs Death!)
I was thinking about a little poem laminated, with a picture of the band, and maybe a few deep red roses, and a plectrum i have played one of cliffs solos with... Can anyone else offer any more respectfull ideas??

Cliff was cremated and his ashes spread around San Fran, which kinda sucks because if he was buried you could go to the cemetary maybe and put them at his real gravestone........

But I think the strange thing about it is this:
They were drawing straws to see who got whose bunk. Cliff got Kirk's bunk and drew the ACE OF SPADES.......had be been in another bunk Cliff would have survived. Also, the fact that the bus 'skidded on black ice' even though no ice was ever found is a bit strange.........

Maybe if they hadn't swapped bunks it would have been Kirk who would be killed. So, Cliff saved Kirk's *** in a way, I guess.......

ThrashMaster27
04-13-2005, 10:41 PM
They used Standard E from Kill 'Em All to Justice. I think 'Metallica' perhaps had a few songs with different tunings, then after that, I'm not too sure about. I think most of St. Anger was in CGCFAD, but I can't be too sure.

all the songs on St. Anger are drop C which the songs are ok but they're not like the old stuff load/reload stuff. it sounds like they r trying to song more like the younger metal bands. i did like some of the one whole step down tuning on songs off of Garage Inc. like Whiskey in the Jar. i think it would have sounded wierd any other way.

i was promised lies
04-14-2005, 12:41 AM
I think that one of the reasons the tuning has gone down is that James cant sing like he used to, his voice has gotten deeper, so he cant reach the high notes that he could when he was 20 odd, their old stuff is now in Eb, as they play it live, the s&m dvd gives some indication, and probably its also ease of tuning for everyone, i hate trying to go from standard to Eb for two different songs if i want the same tone from one guitar

bleed me a cure
04-14-2005, 06:09 AM
i've noticed that not many other people like Load and Reload, and I can't see why. They're both great albums, but are very different styles from Metallica's earlier stuff, which doesn't automatically mean that they suck.
