that would be sweet if they came out with a new album... if it has solos
Metallica is coming out with a new album. Metallica and Megadeth teamed up, and they do play solos. If anyone wants more information I got it! They sound just like the old days... :D

TallicaFan4life
06-29-2004, 02:22 PM

okay i got to about page 10 then i just skipped to the end... but out of everyones favorite songs (mainly sanitarium and mop) i can't believe that i never saw anybody once mention BATTERY! that is such an awesome song.
ive been a die-hard metallica fan since forever now, and i won't stop being one. sure, they hit a bump in the road with st anger, but there are actually a couple of good songs on there! such as:
frantic
st anger
invisible kid
i'm listenin to rtl right now, and i got a question. maybe this is just me, but can anybody else hear the similarity between the intro to fight fire with fire and stairway to heaven (just the acoustic part)? like i said, maybe it's just me.
now, if you want to talk genius, listen to s&m. after hearing that for the first time, it was weird listening to the original versions of that song without all of the instruments and stuff in the backround.

The way i see it, there is no band better than metallica today. They've gone through more **** than any other band out there and for them to be playing that long for as long as they have you just have to give them respect. James Hetfield has got to be the best song writer out there right now. Read all of his lyrics. That guy inspired me to pick up an instrument and start singing. Metallica is just such a great of a band that they've raised the bar so high in metal that its hard for any band to get up there like that.So many bands out there today wouldn't be around if it weren't for metallica's influence.
Metallica definately put a fork in the road in metal. The way i see it, those guys represent metal. They showed in my opinion that thats how metal is supposed to be played. I think they're best album withought a doubt was ****ing and justice for all. Not one **** song on that album sucked. Every song on there is kick ***. And as far as the St. Anger Cd, It didn't suck, it was just different. I wouldn't say they hit a bump in the road either. You gotta consider eveything that happened with them. James rehab, a new bassist. They are grown up and arn't little kids. But i can't say there there is no band right now that can match up to metallica and accomplish what they've done.

Everything metallica touched turned to gold. They have so many great songs than they have to bad. All theese fresh new bands that are out right now i bet you won't make it as long as metallica did. Metallica is what metal is, just look at they're name.
The music right now sucks ****ing ***. Its like metal went into another direction. Metallica showed how metal is supposed to be played, not people singing as if they were taking a ****. You guys could also say that james wasn't the best singer himself, whell check out the load and reload album.
Not only is the majority of metallica songs kick *** but their technicallity of it all is ****ing awesome. Theese guys are on top for a reason and i bet you **** right that they will make another kick *** album. Metallica wanted to do St.Anger for themselves not for anyone else. You can't say, oh they have gotten old or this and that. Go to their concerts and you'll see how much they still got it. Metallica is the best ****ing metal and frankly i don't think anyone will come close to what they have done. From Kill Em' All, to playing with a ****ing symphony, to aggression of an justice to the black album. If theese guys are running out of gas you all should enjoy them while they still last, because metal won't be the same withought them.

-"Lombardo feels Metallica was smart for distancing themselves from the speed metal tag, which guaranteed they wouldn't get stuck in it. "That's the position I'm in now," he says. "I'm tired of being called the speed metal drummer. There's so much more stuff I can do""

Rather you like metallica or not, you gota respect metallica for ****ing who they are and what they've done. Metallica will always live and will never ****ing die. At least one in every 3 people know or heard of metallica. Every guitarist who has played metal knows at least 1 metallica song. That just goes to show you how ****ing influencial they are and how much they've impacted metal. Wheather you like For whom the bell tolls to One, to Nothing Else Matters, At least one song affects you personnally, and fulfills you. The one the you gotta say is that James can ****ing communicate with his lyrics, tell me who else that can impact such greatness like he did and not have any "selfish lyrics about him". You know, I don't want to come into an official metallica thread and start flaming the band or the people posting here, but I really gotta say that Metallica fans (on the whole) have a serious problem. You remind me of fundamentalist religious fanatics, refusing to see ANY fault with your God(s). No matter what they say, do, or play, no matter how good or bad it is, you present or fabricate reasons to justify it, refusing to simply admit the truth. Theres nothing wrong with loving a band. But why do people STILL insist Lars Ulrich is a great drummer? You would say that about ANYBODY who was in Metallica, weather it was Neil Peart or Tre Cool, JUST BECAUSE he is in Metallica. Even in their thrash days, Lars was nothing special. Igor Cavalera from Sepultura and Dave Lombardo from Slayer were doing much better things around the same time period, and are still superior today.
If you connect with their lyrics, cool. Like the music? Wicked.
But please, please, don't make moronic and opinion based statements like "Metallica is the best band in the world."
Of course people respect Metallica (I sure do), but I think you all need to respect them enough to be honest with them and view them from an impartial and unbiased position and tell them when they suck.

1st thing i gotta is say is that, **** yeah metallica is the best band in the world out there that are KNOWN and thats a ****ing fact. Look at EVERYTHING those guys have done, Eveything. For a band that influences so many bands accross the ****ing world you have to acknowledge that. People have heard more of metallica than as oppose to Iron Maiden or Van Halen. That in itself is ****ing amazing.
To admit when they sucked, they havn't. I have never said that metallica sucked because thats a stupid ****ing statement. Everything that have done hasn't sucked in my eyes. Even if they did produce something that weren't up to par in your people expectations it shouldn't matter. You have to take the bitter with the sweet and obviously there is more sweet. So if anyones gonna talk **** about those guys you need to back it up. You can't just say.."uhhh St.Anger"... because that shows that your a moron. Every time you open your mouth look at their history and tell me different.
When i say metallica is the best band i know they are. But that doesn't take any credit away from Iron Maiden, Ozzy/BlackSabbath, AC/DC. But metallica did something that changed metal. Before it was ****ing black sabbath who was carying everything and they were the **** and then metallica came out and had differnt ****ing sounds and they just exploded after a certain period of time. Tell me what band today has done that? The one guitarist i give credit to right now besides Kirk Hammet is Zakk Wylde, everyone else doesn't have the spark.
And for metallica being good 15 years ago? Your a ****ing moron bro. That stupid comment isn't even worth acknowledging. And, St. Anger did better than Iron Maidens new album BRO.
So if anyone else wants to talk smack, bring some points and doin't bring stupid comments. What i always say, It's easy to hate the person thats #1, everyone wants to bring you down. Whell Metallica is still standing. Personnally i think they're St. Anger album was better than the crap music right now. Death Metal and new Metal is crap and has no skill what-so-ever.Those guitarists sound like people who can't play guitar and want to show off to their friends type ****. No originality what so ever. Every band out there sounds almost exaclty the same.
I'd take St.Anger over people who sound like their taking a **** anyday.

Creeping Death or One I'd say. When I say em in April I loved those two songs. The Pyro before One was AMAZING and they really tore up the song. The bass was audible (unlike on the record :D ) Creeping Death was bad*** as well. As soon as the breakdown began, the entire crowd started chanting "Die! Die! Die!" and the crowd as a whole, added the "Die! Die! Die Motheeeeeeeeer F***eeeeeeer DIE!" even though Hetfield din add it. Hey, I thought it was cool. I love that part of the song!!

when they play "one" live it really makes you feel the song and make you feel as if you're in a warzone...it's so awesome!

The album is defenately top five. The only problem i had with it was the poor sound quality, does anyone kno what im talkin about?
wow man! i didn't know there were any technical problems. But if anything the tech. probs. just made the album better. Because everything about that album fucl<ing ROCKS.
