Is your bass active? If so check the battery cuz i highly doubt a nut would make it distorted.

is it active? it sounds like the battery is running low and needs changing

how long you think it takes for a battery to drain?

does leaving it turned on over night discharge it?

Yes, plugging the bass in closes the circuit, turning on the bass.

If your bass is active you want to unplug your input when not using it...when you plug your chord in, the jack hits an "on" switch that causes your preamp to turn on. In order to turn it off and not kill the battery, you've gotta unplug it...

So yeah, change your battery and don't leave your chord plugged in anymore. :thumb:

If your bass isn't active then I have no idea.
