Amp Hum...

My Crate didnt Hum, The Ashdown didnt Hum, but the Ampeg does... i took it in today for Jazz band, and the hum was alot more noticable. Different instrument Cables, and 3 Different Basses, MiM Jazz, American PBass Spec, and a Custom Streamer Pro M.

When i got home i noticed it, this was my first time gigging with the Cab... i used the Ashdown down once, before i let it go, and since then ive been just using my head, and playing from my monitors. Ive played it alot, and this was the first time ive noticed... any idea of what it could be? or how i could remedy it, i dont know of any licensed Ampeg repair shops locally.

I don't know, it might be feedback, which is common if you're using an upright, it just hums when you're not playing, mute the strings or the amp, or just play and it'll go away, if it's not feedback then I'm not sure.

Is it a tube amp? If it is you may need to adjust the bias.

Ampegs are noisey noisey noisey amps. Ridiculously noisey, almost.

I recommend a power conditioner/noise gate/compressor to even it out.
