Groove in your pants was good, except it felt as though you were ahead of the drums for alot of the intro. Could be the fact that the jazz drum patterns just don't lock in well with your groove. I don't know.
The Quaffel Ron Shuffle is...interesting. Not bad, but not something that just hits me with a "WOW," y'know?

the midi one was crazy as.
groove in your pants... yeah, he is on time with the drums, its just that the drum sare playing a very 'untradional' pattern, so it sounds a bit out. i liked them both alot!

Yeah, you're slightly on top of your drummer at points, or he's falling behind you.
I hate your tone, but otherwise it's nice :thumb:

You sound off in Groove in Your Pants. It almost sounds like someone is trying to play something that's too fast for them, so it's not as solid. That's just the impression I get.

bump. What do you guys think of the MIDI composition. I'm reworking it right now, the melody is done with a brass section now, and there will be guitar and piano in the near future.

not bad, I only had time to lsiten to the Groove one.
It sounds like there are some bits you can't play perfectly in that song. Mainly that intro phrase.
Other than that the concept is cool, just more refining.

bump. I set up my warwick, boiled the strings, and i decided to give this recording another rip. The tone doesn't sound like balls anymore, and It's a lot less sloppy than both takes.

hey, im just starting to get into funk and this slap/pop style. And im just wondering what goes into a funk composition, what bands can i listen to to get a feel for the music and such and such.
I understand some theory, if you could explain funk in those terms
your recording is great btw, i like it a lot

Groove in your pants is very cool, man. Lot of energy and some tight licks. The other one was ok - reminded me of that "Beethoven was Black" song at times.
