well because at the moment i cant buy a cab for my peavey pro 500 and i was really bored. i tried seeing if there was a way to get the head to go through my crate combo. sized everything up and found a way. i hooked everything up just fine and it sound fine. no blown speakers. the only this is i am not getting the clarity and exact sound i would through a cab.
if anyone needs help with trying this i can help

Yes are great!
And as for the amp thing.... that's weird. I don't know heaps of people that would need to run their head through their combo speaker. It usually the other way around; send the combo amp through a cabinet.
But I guess this could help a few people that don't have a cab to work with. Or maybe the combo speaker takes more than the cab? Like one of those huge Hartke combo rigs. Yeah. I'll stop now.

you'd have to do it out of the heads line out or d.i?
Otherwise you'd be putting the amplifier out into another amplifier and burn the components.
correct me if im wrong.

No I thinks he has somehow bypassed the amp and gone straight into the speakr.
I used to do it to old combos all the time. I'd open them up, disconnect the two wires that attach the speaker to the amplifier, and resolder them to a stand alone 1/4 socket. from that it plug a line out or whatever into the speaker. usually worked a treat.
