Yup, Open Mic Night
We're playing 6 songs I think, 3 of them brand new, I have a lot of drum parts without any music so I'm hoping my hands arent too clammy and I don't drop the sticks
Really looking forward though :)
Any excercises I can do now while I wait?!
I'd like to try warming up before I go on stage but I doubt it could happen :p
We're small-time :smoke:
Wish me luck
sounds like it will be fun. Just do some basic stuff like single stroke rolls on a pad for a while and other rudiments to warm up. Dont overdo it though by playing on the kit all day until your show.

Thanks matey, unfortunately we have a damn practise in an hour or two, but I'll keep my playing to a minimum, otherwise I know I'll wear myself out :(

Try this exercise: put both sticks in both fists so your arms are out straight infront of you grabbing the sticks, palms facings upwards. Now pull your hands yowards your chest and then circle your hands all the way round so they end up facing the other way. Keep it there. This exercises your arms.

Single strokes and double strokes and triplets to a click isnt a bad idea just before you go up
If you're nervous, knowing you've practiced will relax you quite a bit :thumb:

Yeah I'd like to try that but I wont have a click available nor anywhere to practise it
Cheers :chug:

a click isnt that important for a quick warm up.
Just knowing you have them straight and are adequetely warmed up then you should be cool, on your leg for 5mins for a last resort is better than nothing!

I've done it dude but thanks :D
Check the vid yo ;)
Wow, on our open mic nights we only normally get time for 3 or 4 songs
That's cool, and don't worry about dropping your sticks and stuff, I've found it never happens. Good advice which has been said is don't try and overplay, pla what you know you can pull off confidently and efficiently every time.
Hope the gig goes well :thumb:
Edit; hah just read that you've done the gig
Cool, fun!? :D

I really enjoyed it, and I'm eager to gig again so we might do another one :D
Whatcha guys think of my band?! :) I'd like some constructive criticism, apart from me needing to play with a metronome

I really liked the spacy beginning and the end of the song.
I didn't liked the vocals, too whiney for me.
And your band could play with a bit more more energy, but that's just my point of view

Well first of all your drumming seemed pretty solid. LIGHTEN UP and look at the crowd, you look all hunched up in the corner. Nice job.
