Trying to get a certain sound

Hey, I'm trying to find out what this certain sound is. You hear it in some jazzy funk. A good example is on Coffee's (on the forum) Pornmusic song or some timelapse consortium. Hard to describe, but i guess by onomotapeia it is something like Whaun-chuck-a-Whaun-whua. I know this seems weird, but i really want to know. If you can't figure it out, ill try to find a clip or shorten a track (not sure how I would though). Thanks for the help.

Maybe you are looking for a classic scooped-mids on a Fender Jazz. Props on knowing Timelapse though. lol.

I think I know the sound. Hard to track down. Usually comes from a Fender.. sounds kinda raw, but with mwah

yeah im pretty sure a wah is involved, but the inbetween noise is what im wondering about....oh and i guess luckily i do hae a fender jazz, haha

Yeah, neato, time lapse is awesome, i really like driving to it in the mornings cause its upbeat, but no words (save, certain shade of green and the sparse commentary)

If its wah, and if its in funk, then chances are its some form of slap, or has muted notes at least. The inbetween noise would be the muted notes. I think. Damn you need to post a recording.

Ok thanks. Yeah coffee, in your "the porn song" its in that, especially in the intro, though its more phased sounding there.

More and more, im guessing it is a mix of wah and muted strings. Its a very 70's era sound. ok let me see if I can find a clip with just that, yet the song by Mr coffeekiller is a real good example, and its prevalent throughout it.

haha, I didnt know there was a swear filter. it said animal photographs? lol. Ok cool, I just got the sound I wanted, mixed some wah and some delay together. Thanks for the help though, its been buging me for a while
