Hey all. Ive been playn my bass at coffee shops. just soloing with my loop pedal. I use alot of harmonics but they dont come out very clear and i dont like having to turn the mids up on my amp and tone up on the bass and all of that good stuff to make the harmonics stand out more. so i was wondering if i could use an acoustic amp along with my Fender Bassman 250/210. im not worried about hooking it up becuase i have a GT-6B w/ 2 outputs. The reason im wanting an acoustic amp is because thats what Jaco used to play PoT so im guessing that helps bring out harmonics. So by playing w/ both an acoustic and bass amp, is it going to be hard to balance the two amp or am i gonna end up screwing up the acoustic amp (like blowing the speaker out) or is there something else im over looking?

keep in mind im at a coffee shop so it doesnt need to be terribly loud, just enought to keep up with the Bassman.

Im mainly just tryn to keep the tone of my bass the same (which is not a good setting for harmonics) yet have another amp to bring out harmonics

The manufacturer was called Acoustic.

maybe a second amp of anyvariety, like fingers said above Acoustic was the brand (actually i thought it was a model of hartke or ampeg but not sure), although there are special acoustic amps (this could lead to confusion and buying the wrong one) but even a smaller amp (as the harmonics will cut through clearer anyway)

yea just another bass amp but something with small speakers and preferably a tweeter. then bump the highs cut the mids and leave the bass about flat. u dont wanna make it completly decicated to highs or it will sound brittle. and if u play with tone knob rolled off(less treble) U may still need to openit up a bit, becuase if the high frenquencies are cut of at the source then the second amp will need to be VERY bright to bring out them harmonics and even then theyll likely be a lil muffled.

Yeah, an acoustic amp won't work very well, I had to use one for a concert with my school band because the bass amp was broken and the sound was somewhat distorted. But yeah, I'd say a tweeter would be nice.

Try a small keyboard amp, they're designed to be full range so they'll pick up the harmonics a little bit better. The roland ones sound damn good too.
