It was ripped from one of TBS's webisodes on their website, you can't ban for legal stuff.

No TBS album will ever be as good as Tell All Your Friends...ever...
Hell, no band will be able to recapture what that album did for me. That album seriously changed me. That stuff got me into the music I am now. Truly the most influential album in my life. I know every word, chord, note, rhythm, etc., on that album and I still sing the album the whole way through to this very day...it never gets old. It just does something to me.
/listens to new song now
...yeah...I'm not really a fan. They're trying to be The Fall of Troy or something. I think they definitely sold their style. Adam's voice is totally different...I'm not a fan at all. :(
Where You Want to Be was disappointing but I think this will only continue the trend.
Get John Nolan back!

They don't sound like FoT at all IMO.
And I really liked WYWTB. Even if TAYF was better. I like the new song. And I like Straylight Run, so John can stay where he is. Nub :-*

^ The quick intro on the higher-pitched notes just reminded me of this FoT song I heard once. :p
I hated WYWTB...ew, gross. The bass playing was way better (Matt Rubano went to Berklee) but TAYF was wayyyyyyyy better.
John was way better in TBS, in my opinion...his vocals sounded better, his music was better, etc.
But hey, whatever...he left. :(

Oh, I thought Adam was going out with Michelle(John's sister) and then cheated on her(if I was going out with her, I wouldn't even look at another girl, what a BABE), so John got pissed and yeah...
But that's just what I heard, so it's probably not reliable.
Yeah, the magazine stuff said that John just wasn't diggin' the writing and the music that they were playing so he went off and did his own thing. I'm not sure which is true... maybe both, I don't know.

Gav, I'm gonna have to disagree here. Don't get me wrong, I loved TAYF, but I really did think WYWTB was a great album. Not as great as TAYF, but it's still a favourite of mine, and I loved the new song. But yeah, I do like the new direction they seem to be taking. It's different, but it seems to work. And like you, I'm a huge Rubano fan.

I can see what you mean about it being boring, I find it hard to listen to it all the way through sometimes. But I absolutely love Set Phasers To Stun, and The Union. There are a few dissapointing tracks on there, but I think there's enough solid ones to make it an overall good album.

TAYF was such a good album. WYWTB wasn't bad, but it was pretty meh. This song was meh as well. I really hope they pull it together for the next album though, I fell in love with TBS when I bought TAYF, and so far it's only been slight disappointment from there on out.
EDIT: Also, anyone know if Error Operator will be on the new album?
Yeah it is, but it's been re-recorded for the album.
Advances of this album have already been sent out to reviewers, so expect a leak soon people. Also, a mod at AP has said this album "is not Where You Want To Be Part 2; all you haters who doubted this line-up, get ready to kick yourself."

Quick question, what's with the 152 on all of their albums? On TAYF, the sign says "Exit 152", WYWTB has the "Next Exit 152 Miles" and Louder Now has the "Louder now $1.52".

Yeah it’s pretty simple. We always used to play shows down in North Carolina cos Adam was from there, so we had connections down there. So we had a following in New York and in North Carolina cos we were always playing there. It was a meet-up at exit 152 on the freeway, it’s where we’d meet up with all our friends, when we saw it coming up we’d get excited so it’s a sentimental thing really.

That song isn't really that amazing in my opinion. The only bit that actually sounds like TBS is the chorus, the rest of the song is pretty terrible in my opinion. They have definately done a lot better. I'm hoping the rest of the album has more of their signature sound on it and isn't as disappointing.

wwywb is my fav album of all time, altho tayf was damned good, wwywb has a connection with me, mainly timing wise, as i got it at the start at a reely gr8 summer hols so it aways brings back memories of that. The new song (first one posted) is awesome, very ffaf style i feel, but still with that aurora that tbs have about them, something you can spend long summer days with girls doing nothing but have that album playing behind you (except bloc party's so here we are, always a lover bringer). Anyways sorry to ramble, but this sounds awesome, cant wait till it comes out...

I'm pretty sure it's 'That look was priceless'
and 'you've seen the textbook on the shivers, and refuse' sounds more like 'the same examples for the guilt, the same reviews' but that doesn't really make sense.
And the beginning of that verse sounded like:
'The abortion that you had, it left you clinically dead, it made it all that much easier to lie...' but I'm not sure about the politically incorrectness of it (although it doesn't offend me) I don't know whether they'd take a chance in writing lyrics that people would get all pissy over.
Personally I really like Make Damn sure, but the above song kicks way more ***.

Today I wil be uploading a 4-track sampler for this album, which includes the songs "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?". "Liar (It Takes Two)", "Up Against (Blackout)" and "Spin". I can't at the moment since I have to go to school in like 10 minutes, so be patient!

Alright the time is upon us. To leave the wintery sucky lovliness that is New York in February and March and head to sunny lands of plastic and palm trees and a country with Koalas and Sharks. We will be shooting a Video soon, rehearsing and heading to Australia for the first time. For all of you on the myspace page keeping your australian countdown, get ready, it is almost time. We cannot wait. With the time difference, its kind of like Australia is in the FUTURE, so in essence you guys are ahead of the times. ahem.
it is also now only 30 days until the spring tour starts in the US. You all seem to have gobbled up all the tickets pretty quick so we assure you that we will be upholding our end by melting your faces off with new and improved high voltage rock.
im packing my bags.
making a list.
checking it twice.
losing the list.
rewriting it.
forgetting a few things from the original list.
checking it.
losing it again.
then just saying f*&% the list.
move on.
we're coming to get you.

Sweet!!!! I heard a live verison of What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost on their myspace.
1. "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?"
2. "Liar (It Takes Two)"
3. "Up Against (Blackout)"
4. "Spin"
"Spin" is again not the full thing, but it's extended slightly. You can hear the beginning of quite possibly the sweetest TBS solo ever. I'm excited now.

"Yeah it’s pretty simple. We always used to play shows down in North Carolina cos Adam was from there, so we had connections down there. So we had a following in New York and in North Carolina cos we were always playing there. It was a meet-up at exit 152 on the freeway, it’s where we’d meet up with all our friends, when we saw it coming up we’d get excited so it’s a sentimental thing really."

I have decided a few things;
What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost is a great intro to an album.
I'll Let You Live is an amazing song to end an album.
The new recording of Error Operator is so much better than the original.
Miami is the best TBS guitar solo ever. Spin's riff is a close second.
Divine Intervention is nowhere near as good as New American Classic.
Just my opinions.

i think the new album is quite good...
The best tracks are what's it feel like to be a ghost, makedamnsure, liar, my blue heaven.
I think up against and i'll let you live is below average...
I think louder is missing the climax bits of the end of songs like cute without the e and slowdance on the inside with the dual vocal getting more densed...
The new songs is just the chorus again after the bridge...
The miami solo is a good solo but does not suit the song... it's like they forced it in... and what is wrong with the end of that song? it just kinda goes back to the beginning drumming beat with the muted guitar... but i like the song overall...
But i think i'll grow into it since i'm such a big fan!

chumpradio
04-23-2006, 06:08 AM
Follow The Format is an okay song. It was written when Fred and Matt had just joined the band, and it is about John Nolan leaving.
One of John's criticisms of the band when he left was that all of the songs followed the same format, so the band wrote a song saying that they like the format they use and it works.
The "What's another word for..." part is a reference to a Straylight Run song "Another Word For Desperate".
The song isn't really that amazing in my opinion.

So I got this album yesterday. I love it. It kind of annoys me how people always compare it to TAYF. The band has changed so much since then, and I really don't think there will ever be another Tell All Your Friends. Hell, even if they did make an album similar to it and just as good, people would be complaining that it was nothing new.

They compare it to TAYF because TAYF was amazing, and their best work. Of course it's going to get compared to.

Yeah, I do see your point. But Louder Now and TAYF are totally different albums. I wasn't saying they shouldn't be compared at all. I was just more or less telling people to deal with the fact that there probably won't be another TAYF.

So, yesterday, I downloaded Loder Now, because I'm sick of waiting to get some money to buy it. Now, I fully intend to buy the album when I have some money, but I just wanted to give it a listen first. But, anyways, five of the songs I got off of Limewire were mislabeled. So now, I've got duplicates of one track, two TBS that aren't from the album, and two unidentified songs that aren't even TBS. I'm mad. Not that you guys care, I just needed to vent my frustration that I have with some of the idiots who use limewire.

Louder Now is just like the last CD, a couple good songs, but the rest are fillers.

It's not just a bunch of filler material. It is an excellent album. And ya Limewire sucks.

Neither of the newer albums can compare to TAYF. Almost ever song on TAYF was great. Thew newer albums don't have as many good songs.
DepthsOfDreams555
05-11-2006, 01:38 PM
O I completely agree that they can't comapre to TAYF, but I think Louder Now is mostly made up of good songs. I enjoy listening to just about every song on Louder Now.

I only really like 2 songs on Louder Now.

When I listen through that album I don't skip any songs and I'm kept interested. I really like it. Which two songs?

Make Damn Sure and...umm, I can't remember the name of it.
Bad Blood

I always skip to MakeDamnSure, the other songs don't really interest me too much.
Spin is my favourite, I do feel some of the tracks lack a tad.

How can you not like Make Damn Sure? It's such a good song.

Best songs are Up Against, My Blue Heaven, and Spin.
20/20 surgery and Miami are tied for the catchiest chorus ever, though.
I can have 20/20 Sugery stuck in my head all day. I try not to listen to it in mornings on my walk to school/

I think that Brooklyn (If You See Something, Say Something) should've been included on the retail CD. In my opinion, it's a better closer than I'll Let You Live.

Sweet avatar, Ande. I've been meaning to go to the TBS site and get a new one, but the computer I'm always on at school doesn't have an upgraded flash player, and I'm to lazy to download a new one.
I can't really pick one song off of Louder Now as my favorite, because I pretty much like them all. Lately, I've been skipping right to MakeDamnSure, Miami, and Error:Operator. But I think all the songs are equally good. The only one that I even slightly dislike is I'll Let You Live, but that's probably only because I haven't listened to it enough for it to grow on me.

Right, heres what i had to say about TBS gig yestoday.....
So, i just come in from seeing TBS. And i know, people say they realy suck live. But, i must say, i was plesantly surprised, they where realy good, a lot better then the last time i saw them.
They didnt play much new stuff, they didnt play spin or miami which dissappointed me, but a big highlight was Adam Lazzazazazazazra singing Devine Intervention, playing an acoustic guitar too, he also had a harmonica on his head which play played too.
I also baught i tee-shirt, which i think was made for what Adam did to Matt. Its a mic printed onto the shirt like wraped around the shoulders/neck, and the mic is coverd on blood, and on the back theres like a outline of a figure holding some sort of guitar, like passed out, and there coverd in blood too.
Awww, i got a little leaflet last night, and inside it says "taking back sunday want to personaly thank you" they are posibly the politest band ever, all they did is compliment the crowd and thank us.
Also, if you sign up to the UK mailing list, you name will be put in the next single.
EDIT - Ah yes, that shirt i got is a UK thing, from GIAN, uk exculsive for the show i think.

Me too.
Me 3. I just played this song for my English class since we're studying poetry. A few people who already knew the song said they liked it, but I heard a girl call it emo and that kind of bothered me.
Tomorrow I'm playing Thrice-The Artist in the Ambulance.

That's so cool that you can play songs in your english class, I wish we had a cool english class. I have to give a presentation on 6 chapters of A Lesson Before Dying tomorrow in english class. And I'm no where near finished.
And, I would've hit that girl.

Yeah, our teacher is really young, so she has open ears.
I was about to say something about that, but I forgot because I had to finish up a chess game. :p
I played a couple Hopesfall songs in my English class for a project and someone called them emo.
The songs were instrumental.
