well i'm not voting because i kinda was participating in this round with skingle song(i did the solo but all credit goes to him for the actual song)

Skingle: already knows what i think

Benjammin: nice mood nice feel to it but that was pretty much it. nothing completely blew me away or made me want for more.

Visti: somewhat nice feel but i was bored after a mintue of it. try and change the progression, make the tone less cloudy, add something i don't know.

Manticore Guy: too quiet. pretty much same critique as for the others. try and make it more interesting.

I know my tone is utterly killed in reverb, but I made a mistake in the editing process, accidentally deleting the clean tracks (the ones without reverb). Originally, I had a clean track centered, two tracks with different reverbs panned to each side for both the melody and the rythm. But again, I accidentally killed the clean tracks and had to use one of the reverb tracks for the center, which sucked.

I had more layers on the original take, like an ambient drum track to sort of give it a more progressive feel, but I don't know why I choose that exact one. I'm gonna re-upload with the drums. I know I should have changed the progression a little, but I just couldn't find anything that matched the mood. I could just have transposed it, of course, but meh.. I like it. It's relaxing.

I'm gonna check out the others' now.

I vote Believe. The song was great. Awesome feel and the tracks just fit together perfectly. How did you record the melody? I liked the phaser track. the drums worked well. Roee's beautiful solo tied it up. I personally found it to be way ahead of the other entries.

Benjammin: The bass was nice, but that weird pulsing sound at the beginning killed it for me.

Visti: Eh, just not my thing.

Manticore: Firstly, pump the volume way up. I had to crack my computer's speakers to hear it. The tracks itself just felt too empty, and the drone notes distracted me from the melody. But the melody was nice.

skingle: the session kept on timing out, so i couldnt hear it :(

benjammin: that was pretty bland, no offense.

visti: the only song on the soundclick is one called "lazy". where is serenade?

manticore: you have my vote so far but its nothing overly amazing just some prety godd riffing

ill wait to vote until i can listen to serenade

I'm gonna vote Believe. It was pretty cool, though the phaser track sounded a little like some sort of really cheesy synth.

i got believe to work but thanks anyways roee. IT was pretty nice. Cheesy effects sounded cool. The bass work was groovy enough compared to the other songs.

Right now im listening to serenade, its kinda boring. mellow and repetitive. The tracks all sound a little wrong with each other, just a little. there are these small things that keep coming, just for a second or two. like the hi-hat. I start to think that the song will pickup but then it will fade back into just the same riff thats been played all song long. then it ends with nothing. :( the song need alot more work to become something that i would actually listen to for 7 minutes. i mean that was hard to get through.

my vote: skingle

all i did was the solo
skingle programmed the melody in his program and recorded a bassline with his bass to it. what's the problem?

i listened to it and imagined if the solo wasn't there, and thought Visti's was better. i found the minute long opening pretty boring and repetitive.

i thought htey were all really good. i had to debate between skingle and visti for a while, and finally decided skingle. i really enjoyed them both though.

Very full sounding. Good progression, good melody, alright strings. ARGH! midi brass... Not my favourite sound in the world. Nice solo, would be a lot better without the open strings being played (mistake?). I probably would have used some of that sounds that were used but all the parts were very pleasnt.

"Collide (Re-recorded)"

Chords would have been better without the phaser/flanger, much better. Sounds like most of the chord changes are slightly missed by each track in the piece... it finished without much happening. Good background music if it wasn't for the timing.

"Serenade"

muddy muddy muddy... try sorting out the mix with eq. I think it's damaging my speakers. Sort out the overall sound and it would be a nice enough piece :thumb:

"A Poetic Time"

"open drone notes that propell the piece along" Maybe, but there are a couple of times that the drone just doesn't work... ot the melody doesn't work with the melody, whatever, there are clashes. At some points it seems as if some of the parts aren't meant. As if you're stumbling over them. Nice enough, just not enough to it.

Vote: Skingle

i did write quite an in-depth responce, mx did that thing where i post and it asks me to sign in again and i loose my post.

my conclusion was that allthough skingle's wasnt alive with content(solo aside) it was quite complete.

visti got a second
