Are you replacing your pickups? and why do you want to know the name are they good cause peavey should give the spects on there website, but there are a lot of options when it comes to pick ups, be specific with what you want. Have you tried basslines pickups?, they have like everything.

"peavey humbucking pickups" is what peavey calls them. I didnt so much mean opinions on replacing - I just meant does anyone know a standard name for abreviation for the shape/size of them. Ive never found anything the same side/fitting etc.

Well, no when it comes to pickups most basses have the same type like Emgs, humbuckers of all sorts...etc. But if peavey makes them chances are unless some company like basslines made some you have to get them from peavey.

Their appearance is called a 'soapbar'. If I'm not mistaken, the humbucking soapbars Peavy puts in their basses are the 'standard' soapbar size. There are many replacements you can choose from from companies like EMG, MEC, and Bartolini. Always check the dimensions, but anything called a 'soapbar' should fit.

Thats what i was going to say but wasn't sure if I was right, but as far as soapbars go, bartolini are some of the best, thats what i would go with.

soapbars are just the casings, not the actual type of pickup - so you cant really say that bartolini make the best soapbars, when soapbars can be any type of pickup (j, p, humbuckers), even though i do love the barts

I didn't mean it like the actual Pup, I meant it like the casing, there tilted and i think that its badass but i knew there not really the pick up sorry if you misread my post, the earlier ones i explained the hums and stuff.

Well, we know they're Peavey brand and soapbar style. Are you absolutely sure they're hums? They could be the ferrite single-coil soapbars. What was said earlier about EMG, MEC, and Bartolini is right, but it would be easier to just order some replacements from Peavey (I'm assuming you're just replacing them 'cause they screwed up).
