this is a live video of the drummer from nile playing 1 song, hes so damn fast it focuses on him but you can hear a bit of singing, its really insane, sorry that its youtube

Yeah, he's good, Tony Laureno is better though, imo.

That wasnt musical at all, I have no problem with death metal, but it seems most of it sounds the same to me. <Shrug>
George is great, maybe the best drummer in the field. I consider him to be a better drummer than his peers; altough Nile's music doesnt allow much creativity. Tight as hell live tho.

i watched another video of him where he builds up speed, he plays the double bass really fast

Wow... Don't know what to say. It was really fast but it the whole time I was watching it I had my elbow on my desk and my chin on my palm waiting for something different.
I'm shittng on death metal... What is there to like about that music? All I hear is double bass a growling or like I don't even know what that is but I didn't like it. If I had chops like that I'd be happy though.

I really don't understand the music. I'm listening to it with the wrong ear but when I try to listen and understand I just can't stand it. Some death metal is good. Opeth being the some but thats just because its not lets go do super heavy loud double bass over growling and cymbals and 16ths on hands.
I honestly DON'T know what that music is about

there are different types of drummers, Some do it for the feeling they get out of it...Some do it to let out aggression...some do it as a sport (wfd). I dont think people should put it down because it dosent please them...

Ah, well most death metal is alot more than blasting and doublenass; there's often quite a bit of complexity involved.

Ever heard Kolias' own band, Sickening Horror? pretty cool stuff, he plays much more creative in that. Nile isnt a band where you can pull out some cool grooves. Kolias gets paid to blast through the songs and that's what he does best. But in the end I dont really like Laureano, I saw Nile once with him and he was sloppy and messed up some fills, while George is was tight as hell, the guy also has some massive beater strokes instead of the twitchy stuff Laureano did.

I've never really heard it, sounds pretty cool, but you must have caught Tony on a bad night, he's well known for his tightness. I personally think Annihilation of the Wicked was a step back for Nile, the other albums were much cooler I think.
